Gotcha thanks, I was trying to be cheap and save from having to spent 50 on the phone holder lol.

It is worth it. As I posted previously, I am still using the same phone holder I bought when I had an iPhone5. That was 4 years ago. Am now using it with an iPhone7. It is the adjustable model made for use with hard cases. It also fits my wife's Galaxy 5.
This page lists several for iPhone7 which will also work for iPhone6.

Have used the same phone holder in 3 vehicles. Only have to purchase the dashboard/console mount for the specific vehicle and attach the phone holder to it. I have actually been using their stuff for at least 10 years.

I'll add to Hyper16's comments.
My holder for the smaller S7 case also works for my wifes Iphone 6. And I can easily run a charger or USB (Android Auto) cable as needed.

And I'm still amazed at the empty cup holders. So exciting to have the option to thrown something in there other than my phone. LOL

1 more question if someone doesn't mind answering, the placement of the pro mount, does it block the passenger air vent?

LOL. Yeah, I know. That's why I adjusted her "yeah, it works really well" to a lesser, "it works decent". I've been married a long time. I know how to read between the lines.

That and the fact that my phone is freezing cold when I remove it from the holder. Hmmm, might be the solution to the exploding Note 7 issue....

The cabin is cramped enough, especially in the center-stack area. I'd like to mount my phone somewhere on the upper-dash area, it seems like there is a lot of wasted space. I have a stick, so anything in the lower area seems to encroach on the shifting area, and the ill-placed vents don't help.
Has anyone managed to place it on top of the dash, or over the controls, where the double hood is? I'm also a lefty, so somewhere to the left of the center DIC would work too. I'm going to try to get creative on this.
On the ride home from the dealer, I tried both AA and the factory Nav, and I think I prefer the factory Nav, AA seemed very limited, and the freezes out your phone. If I'm not using AA, that frees the phone from the physical connection requirement. . .

My Proclip install. Love it. Had these in six of my cars and it is always my go-to mount.
