Mpg's with the E-force installed (my observations)

Just FYI for anyone considering a PD blower such as the E-force. I have now had the blower kit on the car for 1,000 miles and am enjoying every one of those miles. It's the most enjoyable DD I have ever owned, and these are my MPG observations:

City MPG's are down 1.5-2 mpg but mostly because of me getting into the boost some and extra fuel demands (obviously). But I'm happy to say that highway MPG's are completely unaffected as Edelbrock claims (they say it takes less than 1/3 hp to drive the blower when not under boost). On a 1.5 hour drive 95% interstate steady 75 mph cruising I got 25 mpg's. For the 3 hour round trip it was 23.9 only because I laid the smack down on a '99 LS3 swapped 996 Carrera a few times on the interstate on the way up. I mean......we were showing each other how exhausts sounded, lol.

Slightly off topic, but I will by dyno'ing my car on October 8th and will be sure to post up my results here.

Thanks Dave,

I'm seeing the same thing. 75mph set on the cruise control and 24 mpg over a 4 hour trip. About the same in town, but I do have a tough time "keeping the bypass open."

The Maggie Cal maintains the AFM which can be good for up to about 6% fuel economy, I have turned it off in our non NPP Camaro with Borla exhaust, with the NPP valves removed it doesn't provide the most refined exhaust note in V4 mode

If it was an NPP car or still stock exhaust I would have left AFM turned on.

26.2 MPG on the way to Florida to Have All girls garage install my Eforce

The way back 24.6...

I notice a slight surgginging in 6th gear very slight on the way home from install.

Now 3k miles later the surge has gotten a little bothersome and worse... Eldelbrock was telling my of an orifice for the Vacuum line to resolve this.

MY LS3 camaro blower did the same thing but my tuner fixed it with no problems even running a large cam profile he fixed it. I tried to tell the techs there tune needs work but I don't know what I'm talking about.

Also I noticed on Hot days you can feel a little timing added when the IATs go up... feels like a mini rev limiter.

Again I'm a idiot and don't know anything..

Now I have a P2199 IAT code that pops up when I get on the throttle.. Sometimes it will go to reduced power and Ill have to clear code with SCT.

As someone tryin to decide between eforce and Maggie, post sales support is a big big deal. This doesn't sound good at all.

I have nothing but great things to say about Edelbrock's tech support. They are very fast and attentive and I've had great experiences with them.

Not a fan of the orifice in the bypass, nothing kills the great response of a TVS SC like slowing the closing of the bypass. Shouldn't be any surge if the cal is right.

I don't know about that P2199, haven't had that one, but I'll try to check into it and see what could be causing that.

Okay thanks. . Let me know.

I can't see how 1 tune works for everyones car... Also I wonder if anyone has checked to see how fat they are running. I know on my LS3 eforce I picked up about 60 hp to the wheels instead of there tune.
