Excited for you. Hoping it goes well as I may be calling them to do the same thing for me.

WOW, didn't know their shop costs were so high! They are a first class tuner, but I'll certainly do any future mechanical work myself and just have them do the tune.

Scouring the internet reality, every S/C for the 2016 camaro runs 7-8K (sans procharger) and EVERY shop I called within 100 miles of here (Phx area) charges $1500- 2K for an install.

Im always skeptical when I see all these lowball quotes in forums - unless AZ has the highest shop charges in the US. If you get a S/C installed, tuned and actually working for $8500 - consider that cheap!

Massive savings if you DIY and know what your doing - I should of paid attention in auto shop class back in HS! Too busy screwing around with the air compressors object shooting abilities

well, you can get kits on ebay for half that (4650 buy it now new) that _say_ they use xyz parts. Maybe they do ...maybe they dont. At least for the 2015. Probably see similar copies of the 2017(or is it 18?) zl1 hardware once that comes out.

So my guess is the cheap kits (that aren't fake/used) are simply copying existing designs and fabbing parts in china.

This is what's killing me. I could A) buy a procharger P-1 and install myself with the handheld tuner for $5500 or so, or B) go to a shop I've been talking to and get it done with a custom tune for $6000-7000 out the door.

Very low baseline numbers should be 4 teens HP and 42s torque

That's a really good deal.. but I don't see the tuning cost ?

Indeed. anxious to see what we have when I pick it up. If its not in the upper 5s to low 6s, I will be surprised. I'm not so much concerned with baseline as final result. Wouldn't you say ? After dealing with the owner and seeing the work they are doing in that shop, at this point I have complete confidence.

I'll certainly report back.

I'm having my 5th Gen serviced at J&R Performance and they are installing a Maggie on a 6th Gen right now. I asked them what they charge if I were to sell my 5th and get a 6th, its a really nice car and I'm thinking about it. They said $8750.00 installed with the Maggie canned tune.
When I got my 5th Gen done by them they came highly recommended by Magnuson, that's how I found them. I've had 0 issues with my car since they built it. Now time to decide, sell mine and step up or wait, hmmmm.......

I had the Procharger supercharger installed yesterday. The SC was $5,600, the labor was $700. ($100/hr), the low noise option was $100., the dyno was $140., plus tax. All total the invoice was $7,018. out the door. Haven't played with it yet, but will very soon.

No offense but I would be scared.

At those prices he is paying you to work on your car.
