Does this show up as a recall or do you have to ask the dealer about this? I had my car in for the waterseal recall and I heard nothing about this.

Once again, this is not a recall. It is a service update. And will only be done on cars in which the customer seems to feel that there some problem with the transmission. They will not do it on a car where the customer doesn't ask for it, or elicit the symptoms of the service update. That is GM/industry standard procedure.it will not show up in the recall website.

Relying on some of the feedback you will get on this site won't do you much good other than hearing how everything is falling apart.

Would be nice to know what symptom it's supposed to fix. Light throttle hesitation (dead zone) is a common complaint but i'm not positive if that's limited to the V6. Not sure what other issue people are having. I suppose that means I dont have any problem but it could just be that i rarely do whatever triggers it.

I did not bring in my car for a transmission related issue.
But since my car was test driven by the tech for my original unrelated concern, they ended up performing this service update. Which makes sense from the posts above. |

Just got off the phone with my dealer he says the service bulletin was suspended. Couldn't provide a reason as GM didn't give one.

also.. It's been suspended.. soooo nobody should be having this done. It was only a Transmission Control Module Reprogramming anyways. Does not say why it has been suspended at this time. #33110: Service Update - 8-Speed Transmission Turbine Shaft Failure - (Sep 19, 2016) Subject: 33110 – 8-Speed Transmission Turbine Shaft Failure **********TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED********** Important: This bulletin is temporarily suspended until further notice. Dealers were notified on September 20, 2016 in Global Connect, message number GCUS-3–697.

TO ALL: 2016 Camaro V6 Owners With The GM 8-Speed 8L45 M5N Hydra-Matic Automatic Transmission. 9-16-2016
There is a Factory Service Update Bulletin # 33110 , that came out this week on an upcoming Recall on this "Turbine Shaft" part inside of these Transmissions, as this Shaft has been determined to cause "8 Speed Transmission Turbine Shaft Failure", because of Structural Stress Cracks found in them from the factory! The procedure for GM Technicians to Replace the "Turbine Shaft" can take between 3 to 4 days to complete the job, as it involves the Removal of the Transmission and the "Turbine Shaft" will be replaced, then the transmission will be reinstalled back into the car. At this time, there is "No Replacement Turbine Shaft" available, as GM has commisioned a company to make the Updated Replacement Part, as the factory Turbine Shafts are Defective in all of these 8L45 8-Speed Automatic Transmissions in our 2016 V6 Camaro's. It is my understanding that GM will Mail Notices to all Camaro V6 8L45 Transmission Owners when the Replacement Part becomes available! |

This guy's service department only had him in for 30 minutes to deal with a similarly titled TSB. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...=467366&page=2 |
