Fuel pump replacement

I was told that to replace the fuel pump you have to drop the sub frame
Question for anyone that has, or had some, changed out the fuel pump on a 2016 camaro:
How long did it take you or whoever you paid to do it? Is 13 hours a reasonable estimate?

I have no answer for that, but I'm assuming that you are getting ready to use a lot of fuel and need a bigger more efficient pump. What mods do you plan? Just curious.

Is this related to the damaged wire harness?

All I need to know is how long a fuel pump swap would take.

Wrong section. This belongs in Tech...probably will have better luck in there. Doubtful anyone in here has replaced one yet, you may need to check book time.

Damn, 10 hours of difference?

All I'll say about it is find a shop you trust and be a good customer. If we get a bad customer, the bid for their next job is high enough that it will ensure they take their business somewhere else.

It's actually under your intake manifold, not in tank.. So I'm not sure why they would have to drop anything.. I know I have a picture somewhere, I'll have to look for it

That's the cam driven high pressure pump. There is a low pressure pump in the tank that supplies the high pressure pump.

Not sure why the sub frame needs to come out.

Remove the small center brace, remove the exhaust, remove the driveshaft, disconnect all the lines, and remove the two tank brackets and its out.
