First road trip

I've had my 2SS since July 2nd and I'm loving it! Until this past week had not really taken it much further than an hour out. Had to leave Vegas for California this past week on business and normally I'd not take my car, but thought what the heck!

Bottom line is I couldn't have been happier I did. Averaged about 25mpg , was totally comfortable and man... Some of our hills between Vegas and L.A. Can be challenging for some cars, not these! I've driven my 2006 Vette plenty of times in the same roads and my Camaro wins hands down in comfort and ease of use.

I like the valet mode as well. Paid the valet folks well to put her in a good well lit, safe spot. Actually turned out well as I could see it from my hotel balcony.

Pro tip- do NOT forget your car is in valet mode !! They brought my car up as I was checking out, had my bags and all. Went to pop the trunk to place my bags in and nothing. Press button again, nothing. Try door button. Nothing. Try hidden button. Nothing. Lowere back seat reach in and pop manually. Win! Look like a moron? Yes sir!

Get in car after ordeal to leave and remember valet mode is on?? Priceless

Thought I'd share what many of you already knew though. These cars are amazing for road trips!!

Sounds great but no one will ever drive my car but me. Even if it's a vallet-only type place, I will park my own car thank you.

I took my first road trip a couple weeks ago. Dallas to Memphis. Not many hills. On the way back I really focused on mileage. Put cruise on and made speed adjustments with my thumb. I got 29.6 mpg.

I took my first road trip a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't all that impressed with the mileage but I absolutely loved the comfort. And hour after hour on the highway did not diminish the feeling of driving an awesome looking car. And this thing was a blast to drive in the mountains.

Interesting how the only person not impressed by the fuel economy is the 1lt owner...

Just breaking mine is and the mileage is great and this early in the car it shouldn't be... so i have a lot to look forward to.

I could have done better I'm sure, But..... Loads of hills AND I'm at times a spirited driver to put it mildly. 4.5 hour trip becomes 3.5 or less haha.

Really good car for long trips. Drove mine from a dealership in Dallas to Waco but averaged under 22mpg. Now it's just sitting in the garage waiting to be shipped to my country. Gonna be a long wait!
