V6 vs V8? Can't decide

So I totaled my vehicle in oct 2015 and was planning on getting a new vehicle spring of 16 but I could not decide to fork up the extra $$ for the V8 or go with the v6. So decided to drive my winter beater till I decided which direction I was going to go..Well its sept in good ole wisconsin , so right now its pointless to buy one till after winter..My question is...a used 16 ss goes for 32-34k where a used V6 are going for 22-24k..Is it really worth the extra 10k?? I don't plan on racing or anything..I used to own a 2010 camaro ss and loved the power but have heard the V6 is actually very powerful as well...HELPP!!??

I test drove both. The V6 has plenty of power and is fun to drive; however, the V8 is more powerful and more fun to drive! Plus, as good as the V6 sounds, it's no match for the fierce rumble of the V8. Test drive both and decide for yourself, but I predict you'll be seduced by the V8.

If you are leaning toward the V6, DON'T drive the SS. You'll be hooked. You'll be unable to get it out of your mind.

Ditto to what everyone else said. I was fully set on getting the v6 to save some money on price and gas. Even the wife was telling me I should go the practical route. But then I test drove the SS. Even the wife who was sitting in the passenger side on both tests drives told me that she noticed a big difference and agreed that I should get the SS. With the discounted pricing I got, I have no regrets!

All the more reason to drive both.

The only reason I didn't buy an SS is because I couldn't afford it. But I am not, by any stretch of the imagination disappointed in what I have.

If you can afford it, and you've never owned a Chevy V8, get one. Because you'll never be satisfied until you do. However if you have had one (or similar) the V-6 is more than adequate. I am very happy with my decision to get the V6. It really deserves all the awards that it's getting.

It always comes down to money. How much do you have to spend?Or do you want to spend? the v8 will cost more and so will its fuel.

Also (at least in Ontario) financing is a few % more... Don't forget about the fierce increase in insurance costs going to the V8, i pay $67/month for the LTG and see over 30mpg on the hwy. The LTG is also more car than can be 'responsibly' driven on the roads anyways... Don't get me wrong though, deep down I'm a V8 lover (isn't everyone?)

It sounds like you've got everything lined up right to buy a V8.

That said, the 1LE V6 just beat a Mustang GT PP on a track. The SS is a better car at a higher price but beating a Mustang V8 with a V6 at the same price point is pretty damn amazing.

It really shows how criminally underrated the Gen6 is.

Was the 1LE a V6...I can't find where a 1LE beat a Mustang GT except an SS 1LE

Coming within $504 of the LL1 cap, the $34,495 Camaro 1LE steals more than eight seconds from the previous LL1 record holders. In doing so, it leaves in its wake a parade of more powerful and more expensive cars, and it absolutely stomps its current Blue Oval rival, the Mustang EcoBoost equipped with the Performance package. Were they on the track at the same time, the boosted Mustang would only be exiting Hog Pen onto the front straight as the Camaro crossed the start/finish line at 3:04. The Ford needs an additional 11.6 seconds to complete its lap. And it gets worse for Mustang acolytes: Despite a 100-hp deficit, the 1LE laps VIR faster than the eight-cylinder Mustang GT.
The Focus RS was faster than the GT too. Ford could draw a horsie on a tin can with crayons and people would buy it.
