You are just not getting it.

Either the numbers were fudged in the baseline to make his tune look better. The lower your baseline the better his tune will look...get it?

Or I suppose you could have been getting crap gas or running 87 and were down 20hp or so from it could have been stock in the first place. In that case the gains are still pretty impressive but could probably accept it.

It is impossible to gain that much from a pump gas tune if everything was legit and normal in your situation. Even e85 tune has not shown to pick up that much.

The throttle body adds next to nothing. It more of throttle response and smoothness modification. 2-5 hp.

Chill out and try to understand whats going on. You might learn something.

Im sure he has lots of experience and im guessing you don't (no offense) or you would be questioning this as well.

A 50 RWHP gain on 93 octane just isn't possible if everything was correct to start with. If this were a FI application I'd say absolutely you could see that kind of delta getting things dialed in correctly but this is a stock LT1. It just isn't going to happen.

The engine would be knocking well before you reach MBT on pump gas other than E85. And as we've seen E85 gains don't even get close to 50 RWHP. You need more air plain and simple.

Exactly your not seeing 50RWHP on E85 never mind pump gas. Again nobody questions the final numbers because that's all they are numbers. You would think common sense would step in here and take over.

Hang on, this is the same guy posting in the secondary cat deletes thread. So he has throttlebody and secondary cats deleted for a start. I wonder what other info has been left out.

where did I post secondary cat delete car still has full stock exhaust, if it was 5 hp or 50 hp the car definitely got woken up it actually feels like it has some power too it now. tsloper I'm going by there tomorrow and he is going to show me what he did and said I'm more then welcome to look at what ever I want too. ultrazlsi like I said I have 20 plus years in the automotive field master tech on heavy and light vehicles and also on fire apparatus so I may know a thing or two about understanding the way things work.

Just ask him to give you the final log file for the run with the highest gains.

I've got about 15. Have my own garage with hoist been doing it on the side for a while off and on. That does not involve tuning and I'm guessing yours either or you'd be doing it yourself.

Just surprised you are not questioning a 50 hp gain from a tune. 50 hp tune is common knowledge impossible on this car. Either way I'm sure the car is fine and will run strong.

Good luck man.

If I had a throttle body and tune done on the same day same dyno and baselined at 386 a reasonable expectation would fall in at 400 when all was said and done. Its a fact that a tune nets these cars 15hp on the very high side. GM simply did not leave anywhere near 50hp on the table in tuning even with the throttle body (wich is worth less than 5hp). Then again maybe this tuner of yours is about to open a whole new door to the tuning world wich I would be happy to see happen and im sure im not alone on that. Curious on Tims take on the log file you will send him. Im glad your satisfied with it thats the reason you went in the 1st place.
