I get compliments everywhere I go. The most common one is "Beautiful car". Surprisingly, more of them from women then men. But I did have a Marine at the base gate pause for 3-4 seconds when I went to give him my ID card and say "Sorry but your car left me speechless for a moment there". Never have gotten an insult aimed at the car. Not even at the drag strip where it's mostly mustangs. Car guys love all cars.

I've received lots of compliments, since I purchased the car. My wife took the car to the store the other day and said she got some dirty looks from a Mustang owner, though.

I've had half a dozen events like this in the month I've owned it. Didn't happen in the '06 mustang. Not sure what's going on.
I've had this exact same thing happen also. Getting cut off in traffic, or people who were once slow riding in the fast lane speeding up as you pass them.

Maybe they just want to get a better look at your great car :-)

I have had many people start driving aggressively around me as well.

A couple of observations as I've only had my car for just over 3 months now:

1) I work on Naval Base Corpus Christi and when getting in line I've seen people jockeying to get up near me to ask about the car as we roll in.

2) It's a conversation starter for sure. Coming out of restaurants my wife and I've had on a couple of occasions folks standing around discussing the car. It's neat to stand there for a few seconds and then walk over and open her up for my wife to get in! lol Love the look on their faces.

3) I'm not sure why but some folks think it's a Dodge of some type...very strange when she's got her SS badge in the grille and Bowtie on the rear. Not to mention the Camaro badges on the sides. Don't really get that at all!

Only complaints are from co-workers who didn't call shotgun

A few dirty looks from what I assume to be fanboys of some other car brand. Easy to tell them apart from true car guys like myself. I always give a nod or short wave regardless of their attitude.

A lot of compliments, my Granny's neighbor walked out on his porch and tried hard to look nonchalant as he snapped a picture.

People definitely drive more aggressively around me again compared to the G6 GXP I daily drove before. I'm quite used to it though, it was about the same with the old SS, but more because of sound than looks. (Longtubes, no cats, dumped behind the axle)

I had the opposite happening to me yesterday.

A black 2005-ish Mercedes CL600 coupe was zipping through the traffic, continuously changing lanes to beat the (relatively fast moving) queue. I see it pulling fast behind me (I'm on the right lane doing 55mph) so I drop a couple of gears and floor it for a couple of seconds to create a space where he can slip by and go free, since the lanes were suddenly free in front of us.

When I slow down to let him go, he pulls on my left, both he and his smiling and giving me a thumbs up. He did not seem concerned about getting ahead of the queue anymore.

I guess they liked the sound ;-)

I got that when I bought my 2002 Firebird 9 years ago. I just replied "yeah...so?"

Same here, I started getting that when I bought my first mustang at 43.... I replied, to those pointing it out, that getting to your mid-life is the best excuse to buy yourself the best toys!
