SS 1LE Blade Spoiler
Greetings.
Has anybody installed SS 1LE Blade Spoiler on their Standard SS?...If so, Please let me know where can I get one....Also can it be installed on Factory Holes?.... Note: I do think the Blade Spoiler Offering from 6LE is too high and not an exact replica of the 1LE.... Thanks.... |

The standard SS will leave a hole in the center that the blade won't cover

You can buy it from GM as an accessory, and have seen them on ebay. As glen said it will leave a hole in the center of the decklid.
The 6le designs spoiler was designed to cover this hole and be an alternative to the 1le blade spoiler (some including me think the GM blade spoiler is too short so they designed a taller one.) Ps. I think the 6le one is a bit tall as well but have one ordered and will be modifying it by trimming a few mm off the lower that wraps down onto the decklid to help make the proportions of the spoiler to the decklid better. They are too close in size and makes them fight for attention. I studied automotive design and work at GM as a Creative Sculptor so these things that are a few mm off really bug me so I just change them myself. I'm doing the same with the street scene splitter and sideskirts as well. Sorry to ramble on |

I think your only way around that hole will be getting a new decklid which is ridiculous just to change your spoiler.
I guess a workaround would be to vinyl wrap your decklid but if you don't want a stripe or graphic up there then I'm not sure how to work around it. Unless you can find a paint matched vinyl wrap which I don't think is possible. Just seems like a fail to offer a spoiler option that doesn't work on all decklids. |

once the 1LE models are in production I'm wondering how much it would cost for an new trunk lid with the holes already drilled for the blade spoiler fom the factory. |

I thought if you order it as an option, the SS would ship with the LT decklid, then dealer installs the blade spoiler. Is this not correct?

Along with trimming it I will be making a wicker bill extension (only a few mm above the actual top) once I see the spoiler installed in person I will decide if I need to trim the upper portion as well. I just like the mechanical functional look that it will give and allows me to easily remove the extensions when traveling far and replace them when I track it, I had an extension on my 5th gen that made me use an extra 1/8th of a tank when travelling 300 miles to see my parents in Ohio but that gives me proof it provides added downforce lol |

How are you with working with your hands? Because that ACS spoiler is stupid expensive. If you feel comfortable with making or modifying things it might be worth buying the 6le designs spoiler and take the route I am. However I do realize most people don't want to spend $500 and need to modify it, that you should get exactly what you want when you spend that much. But only you know what is best for what you want to do. It just sucks if you feel like you need to settle for a spoiler you don't really want. Maybe ask your dealer if there is something they can do with the decklid situation, just explain the situation. On the splitter color, I believe it is a satin graphite? I ordered 1LE replica wheels and it says factory finish is graphite. I would browse the 1LE sub forum I think I remember reading something on the color of the spoiler, mirrors, and splitter... sorry I don't have an accurate answer. As a side note, I was considering making my own blade spoiler from scratch but figured it would be a lot less work to have a close starting point with the 6le spoiler and do slight mods to it. Hope I'm not spitting out tons of useless information I feel as if I'm rambling on lol |

Also curious how much it would cost if you had to order a decklid with the blade spoiler...

A simple solution would be where they design a lip spoiler with a little divot sticking out to cover the middle hole. You could scallop the inner edges to make it look better
