To answer your question.. I'm not that mechanically inclined but do learn easily from instructions or other people's post (Sledg's tail light removal video) on the threads (and thanks to Adam's encouragement went for it! I taped off bumper, got a fastener / trim removal set and took my time and found it very easy! (except for 3rd brake light tint fail) I have a ton of other pics and some tips if you guys try to do it!
Ok if I decide to go for it I'll search the forums for instructions. Might be worth me just paying the dealership to do it, but seeing as how they fouled up putting on my splash guards it might just be a good idea for me to do it myself. Seems when you care about something you usually do a better job of it yourself most times! And you are right - if I decide I don't like it I can always switch back to red. Would likely be easy to get rid of the black ones too, probably on this forum lol.

I have yet to do a road trip and burn through a full tank, but i have a tripped planned. i want to see how the cylinder deactivation does. This is the best I have seen so far. Only 116 miles but look at the average speed and what cruise is set at..81.

I did my initial road trip back home upon delivery. Then did one to Shiloh National Park a month ago.

Why my car is covered! These trees are no joke. Guess I never noticed all this crap on top of my tall minivan, so glad I got the cover. Not sure you can see the pile of brownish liquid on the right side - it's sticky too. Now I just need to figure out how to clean the cover every once in awhile!

Grateful for the cover... Now if only I could find a house for under 1.2 million dollars in my area and maybe I could get myself a garage.

OUCH!

California seems like a really nice state from looks standpoint but from some of the stuff I've heard about it I would never live there. This is another reason. I know you're in LA but things seem pricy everywhere in that state.

Yeah I tell people to just visit not to move here. My husband works in film so we are stuck here, and luckily we bought our house before the market got too out of control. But for what we paid for our tiny 60 year old house I could have bought a mansion on acres in Missouri. But, of course there's no film work there. So it is what it is!!!! Hence the $200 cover vs the 1.2 million house with a garage...

Yeah, makes sense I guess. How about a car port? Would that be an option where you live? It would still keep the stuff off and you wouldn't have to clean the cover as much if at all if you still choose to use it.

Oh I've got a carport! Two car carport if you can believe it from this picture - straight through the side of my house and it actually leads to our garage (that is a soundproof recording studio). Unfortunately the carport is too narrow to properly use for cars, and it is filled with bikes & sheds. The garage is actually behind the house - you would have to drive through the carport and through the backyard to get to it. Not an issue in 1941 when the house was built but not practical now, especially since the garage isn't a garage anymore. We are thinking of re-converting it back to a garage, but would be so hard to get the car back there. I'm just going to win the lotto and buy a new house. Actually we could possibly sell this house and move a bit further away without significantly upping our mortgage, but that's easier said than done with the kids in school (can't move out of our area or we have to go to a crappier school). So for now, the cover. Pain in the ass but better than nothing!!!

Yeah I definitely wouldn't risk pulling into that haha.

I just closed on my house in December. I didn't want much in the house other than I wanted it to be move in ready and have a two car garage. It was built in the 60's. It's probably my fault because I didn't do my homework well enough, but I didn't realize that two car garages come in many sizes. So we closed on it and moved in. The plan was that the garage would be for my girlfriend's car (a Toyota Corolla) and my toy at the time, a 2006 GTO. My DD would stay in the driveway.

I was still living with my dad who has a two car garage but only one car so the GTO was in the other side (My mom passed away in 2014). I didn't bring my GTO over right away because I'm technically not supposed to drive it December-February due to a layover on my insurance. Saves me a few bucks. So March rolls around and I go over and get the GTO at my dad's and bring it home. We managed to fit both cars but there was no room on one side of each and very little room to open the driver's doors. We had one pulled in and one backed in so the doors opened to the middle of the garage. I was upset, still am really, but now the Camaro is all alone in the garage. With one car it's huge. It's deep, just not wide.

So now the plan is come winter I'm going to either try to squeeze the now wider Camaro on one side with the girlfriend's car (who now has a bigger ATS) or she will just have the garage to herself until it gets nice again in the spring. My dad still has an open garage so I'll bring the Camaro there if need be. Thanks for reading my novel.

Yeah garages haven't grown as cars have, so if you have an older house a 2 car garage isn't exactly always going to work. Sounds like you have a decent solution. I've just never had a car that "needed" a garage, or that honestly I gave half a crap about. I had a jeep when I was 18-20 and that was my other most favorite car (not to disparage my minivan, I do love it - just in a utilitarian way). But I've never had a car like this Camaro. I think about it all the time! Gotta protect her!
