Can't use it on the track anyway...but it makes it useless as a daily driver down here in the south. Hell, it would suck as a weekend warrior, it's hot as hell here in the summer.

Gt350R, so rare the dealers rape everyone. This one on ebay is at $80k and still hasn't broken the reserve. The MSRP price will never happen on an "R".
http://m.ebay.com/itm/222235013440 The 1LE is about $43-45k, dealers may have some but most here would order or get the 1LE for pretty close to that number.

I hope not...as my uncle worked for GM, specifically Cadillac, and was on the engineering team. GM worked directly with Delphi to develop the system and fine tune its function. First car to have it installed was the early 2000's Cadillac STS believe it or not, if memory serves me right... |

I agree, AC is a must. Funny thing is when they tested the 5Gen Z/28 it always had AC.

Nope, they are both supplier supplied components. GM doesn't engineer or manufacture them, they give Delphi their specification requirements and purchase them for their vehicles. If that's not apples to apples, I don't know what is.

That article is complete garbage and totally misleading. GM own's no rights to Magnetorheological damper systems, as it along with all other manufacturers license and purchase the components from BWI. Edit: just realized that BWI isn't publicy traded on the NYSE lol. Last edited by Mustang Fanboy; 09-06-2016 at 08:38 PM. |

Very true, but that has nothing to do with the current vehicles and hasn't been for quite some time (hence my McPherson analogy). My point was, GM doesn't engineer these components, they give engineering specs and purchase them (as does Ford). This is the same thing they do with wheels. Neither company manufacture wheels...they are all vendor supplied with engineering specs given (I used to design OEM wheels for Alcoa).

MRC was developed by Delphi when it was still owned by GM in the late 90's. GM licensed the rights to Audi and Ferrari in the early 2000's, but Delphi still owned the patent. Delphi sold it to BWI in 2009 when they filed for bankruptcy. The 02 Cadillac STS and 03 Vette were the first GM vehicles to get the tech.
