Tow Hitch Recommendations

Has anyone installed a tow hitch on their camaro? I'm looking for some good options. I want to use it for a bike rack.

How was the process of installing it? Did you have to remove the bumper?

Im interested in this as well, i dont have my car yet but i am concerned that the suitcase style muffler may interfere with a hitch mount. That being said, several vendors have already developed dual muffler options so we may be able to go that route if its not possible with the stock muffler

Pg 239 of the manual

"This vehicle is neither designed nor intended to tow a trailer"

Now, I know you said a bike rack -- but, I would just be careful about what kind of tow equipment you have installed as you won't be able to easily prove you didn't tow something heavier -- should your car develop issues and your dealer sees that receiver installed.

Maybe you can get something that's easy on / easy off since your bikes won't be all that heavy (certainly not any worse than a load of groceries)

Putting a bike rack won't hurt anything, I'd email hidden hitch and see if they are cooking anything.

Has anyone considered the seasucker talon? IM VERY INTERESTED. But worried about the clear coat. Not a lot of negative reviews. Also worried about placement because my car will have a sunroof. If anyone has some insight I would like to hear. I might order it and update here on my findings.

It would be way too easy to scratch the paint getting the bike on/off.

I'm interested in this too, although I'd prefer a trunk mount if possible.

I was going to try it offset maybe to the drivers side or passenger side so its easier to take put off and on. I did the trunk mount thing before and there was too much damage on my 2011... If there was a tow hitch that would work with that suitcase of a muffler and not sure if the GM rear ground fx kit would get in the way (and wasn't too visually obtrusive). Going to order it. Car should be delivered in a week or 2. Will post info here after my first weekend with it.

Buy a beater to carry your bikes. I have an older Toyota we use to carry golf clubs since the trunk is sooooo lame.

I purchased a trunk 2 bike rack yesterday from Academy Sports and Outdoors and it works great. The rack clears the spoiler (sorry no side pics and I've already taken it off my car) and holds the bikes away from the car without any problems. The bottom strap I placed underneath the car, but next time I'll attach to the bottom of the trunk lid (instructions give you several options for the bottom strap).

If anyone is looking for a reasonable Bike Rack this one works great and it was only $39.

Went all in on the Seasucker Talon. Really dig it. Asked another user about any clear coat marring and said it hasnt messed his up. And after a 15+ usages on my SS. Still no marring. I keep the suction cups clean and always in their covers. I always clean the surface of the car I will be attaching it too with some waterless carwash or detail spray too keep both things clean. I just tape up the pedals so they don't spin and hit my car. I've driven with the bike on the car on the freeway at 80 mph and my bike is still safe =).
