Magnuson Supercharger SS DIY

Has anyone done their own install of the Magnuson . I looked in the forums but did not find any threads . Looking for thoughts on the install , challenges , etc. Seems like a very well designed system .

+2345 Their install PDF isn't populating on the website.

I've seen all the DIYs in the Mustang forums for Whipple, etc.

E-Force has a step by step instruction book, I don't see why Magnusons kit shouldn't have one. One of the hardest jobs was removing the Harmonic Balancer.

Yes the EForce PDF is awesome. I also looked for the Magnuson install guide.

The kit comes with a detail color install manual, 78 pages. It is a quality kit and very complete, just need coolant and tools. The LT1 is quite a bit more work but not on the Magnuson side, GM just made this Gen6 harder to work on. It requires a lot more items to be taken apart to have access. I would say it requires slightly more skill level to do a clean install and more patience.

Very thorough step by step instructions, thanks for posting.

Question; We have 93 octane here in PA, do they make a tune for that too or just 91 ?

Only 91 for the CARB approved tune. Any good tuner should be able to bump it up a bit for 93 for you though.

Magnuson seems to be the preferred setup by the forum sponsors. Being that both are similar in price, I tend take their opinions with far greater weight.

Ive had an edelbrock S/C on a 2015 GT mustang and always had issues with heat. Also had intermittent problems with power loss, which is why I got rid of it - will not go that route again.

Edelbrock has great instructions, but if you are going to spend 7K on a S/C to put on a 40K plus car, Im erring towards the side of guys who install them for a living. DIY has its limits, the smart ones know their limitations. If you are spending that much on a mod, then you have a lot of money to burn anyways.
