Roto-Fab cold air intake with sound tube delete installed today

Just got done with our install before the storms hit. I want to Thank my son Dakota for helping with this install. Roto-Fab included detailed instructions with full color pictures to help with the install. Taking the OEM intake air system out and installing the Roto-Fab unit was a piece of cake. Make sure that if you want to do the badge plate flip and install the red Roto-Fab decal you do it before you start anything else. Like it says in the instruction make sure to build the MAF tube, plate and air box first before putting it in the car other wise it will be more of a pain to do it then. Once the box is in and you have everything else done besides the elbow make sure you cover your radiator area with a towel because Roto-Fab uses every inch that they can and it is tight getting it into the two boots so you don't want to scratch up your new intake tube. Once I had everything installed and before I tightened down on the clamps I made sure everything was seated properly and fully. Make sure once the Filter is put into place and tightened that it is at a slight angle forward like in the picture and runs even with the ledge built into the box for it to sit on. Ok now when tightening the clamps on the elbow make sure it is fully seated into both boots and when doing so make sure you do not push down on the elbow because that will cause the box at the fender where it is seated fully into the grommet to raise and that will throw things off and that could cause your hood to raise slightly on that end when hood is shut leaving it misaligned with the front bumper cover and the fender like I had read in another post from yesterday when someone installed theirs. My final thoughts are WOW!!! This could air intake is amazing, huge and looks awesome in the engine compartment of the Gen6. They used every inch possible side to side and from top to bottom. From the time I got my intake delivered in the box to my install I was totally pleased with the efforts Roto-Fab put into packaging, instructions and the overall quality in the build and parts of their cold air intake!!! Thank you Roto-Fab for a great cold air intake

Pictures of installed Roto-Fab cold air intake

One other thing make sure when after building the box with MAF tube and bracket and you first install it into the grommets to be fully seated reach your hand into the box and make sure the vent hole and the rubber vent in the car are seated properly otherwise it will not seal right. When I put mine in it was seated in all three grommets but when I moved to the front of the car and looked down in between the box and that vent I could see the vent seal was not wrapped around the felt like is was supposed to on the box vent opening. My last picture above is how it should look.

Will be doing some driving tomorrow and posting my reviews. I know it woke the car up at idle and during revs in sport mode.

Great place and person to buy from. Screwdriver, Phillips, adjustable wrench, 10mm socket and T50 torque bit if you ordered the delete.

Ok. Got up this morning to get the Camaro ready for the car show tomorrow. Took it down to my local car wash to wash and spray off my wheels. Took it out for a drive (around 35 minutes) to blow the wheels dry and see the difference after the Roto-Fab cold air intake install. If this is like the 5th Gen and needs time to learn the new upgrade and air flow...I can't wait. Just my opinion but with the NPP exhaust it sure woke this car up and the exhaust. I had it in tour mode at first and switched to sport mode and that thing came alive and for sure had a deeper roar to it with the intake installed and more air getting sucked in. At idle and at acceleration. It seemed to have a better pedal response and more power when hitting the gas from a stop or roll. This intake is a must have for anyone that wants to add bolt on hp and a clean and better look than the stock black box. Roto-Fab done a excellent job in craftsmanship, appearance and using all space available on that side. Glad they took their time and was not in a rush to push it out the door to beat everyone else. With more R&D time they were able to get what they wanted out of their intake system and even decided to move away from their prototype and go with a bigger box and filter. In my opinion this box is 2nd to NONE and I am confident when the independent numbers come out from the various speed shops that this will be on top for the most hp and torque for a bolt on cold air intake. If it does not truly produce 10+ hp I will be totally shocked. I want to thank all the people at Roto-Fab in the shop, service and design team for the excellent job well done. Enjoy all that has purchased this system

Hyper1SS - we appreciate the great pictures detailed feedback. The view from inside the air box looking into the air inlet is especially cool. We are compiling the installation tips posted by you and others. Some of the tips will be added to our instructions which make them even better!

No problem. Thank you and just want to help make sure they have the install perfect to create the seal of the air intake from all sides like you built it. I thought that picture would be of some help to show people what I was talking about after the box is installed. So glad I waited for this intake to be released and glad I went with the sound tube delete. Looks so much cleaner without all that clutter from the unit up front and the long hose running all the way back to the firewall. Ready to see the numbers from shops like JDP Motorsports and people like Lethalhammer!! Have a great weekend

Excellent review.. Looks great and your butt dyno says that it def helped with acceleration.

Sledgehammer testes the Mish and CAI and I hope he gets a chance to test the Roto-fab!
