The Blend mount looks really nice, but it sure is expensive.

I found this one and may give it a try: https://www.amazon.com/PerformancePa...dp/B0063N7UGA/

It is $35.99. If you buy it with the power cord, it is $5 and change.

I used a similar mount for my Escort Max 2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It took some trial and error to position it just right, but I found it worked best if you mount the radar to the left of the mirror stem instead of immediately below/centered. Check out the pics.

For folks following this hard wiring guide, I ended up redoing my connections and soldering the wires instead of just pushing it into the connector. My radar detector fell a few times off the suction cup mount and the wires eventually tugged loose. With the new mirror mount and soldered connections, hopefully this is a permanent install now.

Have you experienced any problems with the detector's ability to acquire the GPS satellites with it mounted that far away from the windshield?

Nope. I'm using the 4" blend mount arm.

Has anybody removed the overhead console on a convertible yet? It is different from the pics you all are showing. Thanks

Thanks

Nope, GPS works fine in that location.

The taps go behind that passenger airbag light module. It doesn't seem to be related to the auto dimming mirror. I would pop console and just check to see if you see a similar plug to the pics I posted and you should be fine.

I'm afraid this mount (Radar Mount) did not work with the 1SS mirror

What's the 4 inch mount? I ordered "BlendMount BBE-2027, C7 Corvette, 2016 Camaro, BBE-2027 Escort/Beltronics"

Should I cancel the order?

Thanks for the details, it made the job go quickly not having to locate the correct wire on my own. I installed the direct wire kit for the V1 detector and a micro USB for the dash cam and both work and look great!
