Radar Detector- If you could hide your display from others?

Do you ever worry about a cop coming up behind you and seeing your detector display? What about other cars seeing your lit up display and trying to "piggyback" off of your detector? Does that ever happen?

Let's say you had a simple, low tech, low cost way to hide your detector's display from all cars behind you, and from most (not all) of the traffic on either side, would you do it?

I was thinking (always dangerous!) and came up with an idea for how to do this. I need to make a proof of concept and make sure it really works as I think it would.

Anyway, would a product like this interest you? Not looking for any kind of commitment, just seeing if there is any level of interest.

Also, is there anything on the market already that does this?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and comments!

Mods, I have no intention of breaking any rules here. I do not currently sell anything to anyone and am not a business. I would hope to obey all the rules about such things here, if there are any, and I were to actually bring a product to market.

I put dark grey vinyl over my display so I can see it (dimly) from in the car, but can't be seen outside.

Tinting your rear window might also accomplish a similar result - especially if you can put limo tint on the car!

Tinted rear window, and tilt down the visor slightly if your RD is mounted high.

I have never been piggybacked nor do I give two damns if a cop knows I have a detector. They have to prove that I am speeding not that I intend to speed.

I do however, wish for a more elegant integration of the device into the car versus having it on a blendmount under the mirror.
