Not from CAI, Inc.
I haven't seen a GM Performance "on-road" accessory that didn't have a CARB certification. Based on that, I would believe the accessory was pulled because GM dissolved the partnership on this product. Though it may not be CAI's fault for failing CARB tests. This Camaro SS runs so rich at idle (especially cold starts), that the emissions of a full production factory car probably don't pass CARB testing. |

According to the Chevy performance parts dealer, one by Chevy will be CARB certified but it will not come with a free tune.

Whether that calibration is included or not, discount online dealers won't be able to sell it. This means paying whatever your local dealer wants to charge for part & install. That idea alone should kill the appetite for the product.
GM should focus on putting out some OEM rear gears for the track and strip crowds. And how about add-on's for the HMI module? Expanded HUD options? Add PDR? Add line lock? A lot of things can be done with a little hardware, a little software or a little bit of both. |
