Front Camera for my Camaro

What do you think about my idea that I came up with ???

Do you have any suggestions or opinions in how to improve this camera?
We can discuss this thru the forum.

Costs:

Camera $13.00
Monitor 12.00
Switch 4.00

Total spent $29.00

Not expensive at all !!!:

Good idea. Can you list where you sourced those parts?

I would just be a little concerned about someone breaking in to steal that if they think it's a Navigation unit. I wonder if there's a more discrete place to mount it.

The camera and monitor i found them in EBay and the switch i got it in AutoZone.
so the camera and monitor were connected thru the power of the sunvisor.
I thought that was a perfect spot for the camera because it wouldn't block my vision while I am driving.
Thanks for your input!

Why do you need a back-up camera for front driving?

This is better than a back-up camera for the "curb".

Stealthier, cleaner yes. But is it $100+ better? I think either solution works just as good once you get use to it.

Not better. I bought the curb alert and the constant false alerts drove me crazy

I think the image of the camera is much better than a sensor curb because it can give you false alerts. And the images of the camera won't give you that.
This is my humble opinion.

I think ingenuity here is commendable. I also don't love the idea of having a tablet sized monitor mounted in the corner of my windshield. I'm 6'4, so that thing would be directly in my line of sight. If there was a way to incorporate a front camera into the factory radio like the Corvette has, I would be all for the idea.

What connector type does the camera module use? I could see a use for multiples of these.

It would be kind of cool if the monitor could be hidden somehow and only pulled out when you need to use it. Like if it pivoted out from under the dash or something. Not sure how it would work, but something along those lines. I REALLY LIKE THE CONCEPT, but it is hard enough to see out of the car already, so I would want the monitor somewhere else. Just my opinion.
