Just checkin'
Hello Camaro6ers,
Sorry if these "problem" threads aren't really problems. Just got the car a couple days ago and noticed when turning on the Air or A/C from off and changing the climate control to re-circulate. There is a loud audible tap, sounds like plastic gate shutting, I just wanted to know if such a loud plastic knock noise is normal as I don't hear this sort of thing on any other car I've been in. Many thanks, Alex

I have the same thing. Not sure if it's normal or not. Going to have the dealer check it when it goes in for some other stuff.

Yup! I have it too, don't really consider it to be an issue.

I had/have the same issue. I took it to my dealership because I would hear this sound when switching AC from Low to 61+. See the post linked above which I made previously on this issue.
They said it had something to do with "Actuators" whatever that is. They recalibrated them and I no longer hear that sound when I turn the AC from Low to 61+. Instead, I hear it about a second after I turn the car on as its loading up. I am taking it back to the dealership tomorrow. |

I have this happen on my car when I close or open the re-circulating air ducts. Never thought anything of it.

Did not have this until 3 days ago and now I notice it all the time when I select "Auto", temperature set in the mid to low 70's and as noted it originates from behind the dash panel on the passenger side.
Other then a brief not from another member on another thread has anyone had the checked by the dealer?

As mentioned it is the recirculate duct. Mine does it as well. It is normal operation, it could definitely be a bit less harsh/loud when it opens and closes. If it was a bit less obnoxious no one would ever mention anything about it.
I would list this for an area for improvement in future models.

I have the same issue, guess I will live with it, one more annoying feature.
