Those "Recaro seats" look like they were "designed" by Recaro, but are still GM seats. We'll be able to swap rear seat frame and possibly rear motor to get more recline in our seats.

They can keep the suede. I don't like seats that sweat more than I do.

And last, I was hoping for tilting headrests for the 6th gen, but since that is impossible for GM to conceive, I am a little jealous that the ZL1 gets to keep the 5th gen headrest style -- those were pretty comfy when you laid back on them.

Yeah, I did take a pretty good hit. It wasn't just the seats though. They were what bothered me the most.

I will say, the car drove better than my 2009 Z06. It was a phenomenal driving car, but that's where it stopped. The nannies seemed to kick on a bit too aggressively. I know you can turn them off, but not be default. I also didn't care for the sound system and infotainment. The bass was muddy and rattled the doors. And no HD radio? Come on Chevy. Overall I was just unhappy with the car.

I know most of you all and Camaro enthusiasts, so I apologize for stepping on your car. I bet most people look past the seats and sound system for having a badass driving car. It just wasn't for me.

I almost didn't buy my SS because the drivers seat does not recline enough. I have a spinal cord disease and can't sit up straight. I loved the car so much I still bought it. I have to sit sideways basically to drive the car. I hope I can find a way to let it recline at least against the back seat.

I forget which thread it was but another owner posted in a thread that he drilled out the hinges somewhere on the lower part of the seat and then could have full range.

If you do a search you could find it.

It is probably noting more than some sort of stop. Sounds feasible. I may look into it, as I do wish they reclined a bit more. If I get a chance this weekend I will post my findings.

There is a metal stop welded in place that can be drilled out to allow for further recline. That solves that problem but could create others with the motor travel and/or the ventilation.

OR, as I have seen in the Jeep community, you could unbolt the mounting brackets and insert a 1/2" spacer under the front mounting points to create a slight recline. May require replacing the bolts with longer ones.

Why these seats do not recline back very far is a mystery. I've yet to hear a reliable reason. I think the fully reclining feature is something everyone takes for granted in a bucket seat, and Camaro dropped the ball and hoped nobody would notice....

...I would hold out hope that these Racaros that fully recline will soon be an available item to install as a replacement for the stock, non-reclining seats...

I'm glad you all brought it up. Didn't mean to come off as a ***** but it's a huge deal for me. My pain gets unbearable if I'm not reclined back far enough when driving. Hopefully something can be done. By the way, love this group so far. I have been out of the muscle car scene for a long time. Feels good to be back.

I think someone set the max tilt on the seat so they wouldn't hit. If you were to put the seat all the way to the rear and all the way down and then go full tilt to the rear. The seat stops just prior to hitting the rear seat.

I believe this is Zack's seat after it was "fixed" and in the farthest back position....There is still a lot of room to recline before it hits the rear seats...My fifth gen reclines like the Recaros shown on the ZL-1 and interference with the back seats is not an issue....

Having a reclining seat is a must for a long drive (to stretch once in a while), occasional cargo needs, etc, and to relax in while parked, waiting, not moving, etc....Physical needs of driver and passenger...

Just sayin' the Recaros for the 6thGen 1LE and ZL-1, (and the stock seats in the 5thGens) "fully" recline, and it's apparently not an issue with the rear seat...

I don't think that seat is as far back as it can go. (I sure could be wrong)

I don't own one, but I have sat in a 6thGen and "reclined" the seat back as far as it would go, and it was just like Zack's picture....I thought I wasn't doing it right, but I was...lol...Try it on yours. It would be good to know how it is...
Many owners have noticed a less than expected recline, on top of some who had problems even getting it back as far as shown in the pic....

My belief is that it is far less than what one would expect....Maybe I'm wrong!...lol...

Sorry. I must not have said it correctly.

I think the seat is tilted as far back as it can go. I do not think it is slide back as far as it would go. I think that picture can have the seat slide back further toward the back seat. (for instance it is set for a person that is 5'9" not 6'5")

I am totally on board that the 6th Gen seats should have more recline.
