Hooker Black Heart v Stainless Works Full System

Hey all... I've been looking into purchasing a full exhaust system for my 16 2SS M6 w/ NPP. I'm a little on the fence right now between the Hooker BlackHeart system and the Stainless Works system. I'll go with 2" primary either way because I plan on a set of CNC ported heads and a cam in the future. Money wise they're pretty much equal for what I can get them for. So really I'm wondering if i can get some input from any of you guys who may have either system installed. From what I gather the Hooker system is completely Catless and you can order the stainless works with Hi-flow cats. Would both systems require a tune? Sorry for all the questions... I'm still new on performance mods on the LS/LT series engines. I'm used to carb fed big blocks. Thanks guy!

I have stainless works full system. Long tube headers, no cats and npp. I absolutely love the system. First everything fit like it was from the factory! Once all the old parts were off installing the SW system was a breeze. I did it myself with the car about 18inch off the ground. The sound from the system is a deep tone and loud as crap with the valves open! Turns heads everywhere!

I did not get any codes right away then got one for about half a day and nothing since then(about 3 weeks.) I am still going to get the car tuned as I have a CAI, ported TB and msd intake as well so I want to get the most out of everything. Even without the tune the car runs great and strong and I don't have any worries about anything.

I looked into the black heart system as well but went with SW due to the reviews from people about how well everything fit and how it sounded. Do not regret it one bit.

In the future, I'm leaning towards the BlackHeart and just add in the cats myself. The BlackHeart is two piece and will simplify installation as well as adding on the cats.

IMHO, I'm not impressed with the welds on the stainless works systems. I don't think they're going to fail, but they're just not the quality I would expect from a company that does this full time.

Can't make a bad choice here.

I'd love to see what your car makes once its dyno'd. That's pretty much the exact route I'm heading until i can get into it internally. Thanks for the feedback.

I installed the SW complete system with headers, hi-flow cats, 3" pipes and nonNPP mufflers. It was an easy install and the craftsmanship, including welds, was excellent. The "bark" from system, when pushed, sounds great.

Not sure that I will get it dyno'd. I've never dyno'd any car I've had. Never really been the person who has to know what hp/tq I'm making. I just go off of feel and how it performs. Would be kinda nice to know so who knows.

Besides doing a couple of suspension things and getting some better tires I will be done with performance mods as well for the time being. Internal work will be next down the road but I am happy with the way everything has worked out this far.
