Wanna get new muscle/sports car after 25 years

I will be turning 53 next week. Havent been in a sports/muscle car in 20 years . Last one was a 1996 Camaro SS. Think for my Birthday im gonna get one.. Havent kept up with these type of cars for 5 or so years.

I will be driving them all this weekend. Out of curiosity which are the fastest stock , equal drivers in a 1/4 mile out of the Mustang GT, Base Stingray, New Camaro SS, and Scat Pak?

Mustang GT is out.

Scat Pack could compete from a roll maybe with a light driver, from a dig it'll get beat a couple cars.

Stingray and Camaro SS is a drivers race.

The Scatpack with tires can keep close to the SS (A8 gearing is aggressive).. Base Stingray is slightly faster than the SS due to weight, aerodynamics but def. a drivers race.

SS vs GT.. You make the call

he's always watchin lol

Agreed with above. Stingray should (slightly) edge out the SS due to weight/aero

Camaro makes the other two look like crap in every performance category - and looks better to boot

Welcome to the forum

The base Stingray will be the quickest of the bunch, the Camaro and Scat Pak are a driver's race .......unless you buy a white SS ( it's a forum secret that they are indeed the fastest) then it's lights out Mopar

The auto Scat Pack with equal grip to a Camaro SS is a driver's race. The stock Scat Pack will be a couple tenths off the Camaro's pace, and the the manual is a few tenths slower than the stock auto, as we saw in this video.

If you are considering Stingray money, you should be looking at the gt350 as well.

Dealer markup on the GT350 is crazy right now if you can find one. Cheapest I've saw about a week ago was almost $63k, most were $65k+. They are pretty sweet though, shifting above 8k rpm's = awesome!

Can't get past the weight and bloated appearance. It's too far into the "meathead" category and away from "sport"

Heaven help I just hate f*ing Mustangs and always have, damn things cover the roads like flies
