Where is this whistle noise coming from, is it normal?? VIDEO

Guys I need help. Is this whistling normal? I have an A8 transmission and the noise is coming from the transmission/behind center A/C vents. Happens at low speeds acceleration and deceleration anywhere from 0-30/40mph

I haven't noticed anything like that with mine. From your videos sounds like wind blowing, and varies with engine revs? Were you parked or actually moving?

I remember your first thread about this and that I said I didn't notice it on mine. Well more things are wrong with mine now, and I do believe I hear this occur in my car now.

Gear whine? I can hear a very VERY faint gear whine around the same speed on mine, but it doesn't sound like anything is wrong in mine. Definitely not as loud as your video though, I doubt there's any way I could get it on video.

Did you install a supercharger recently? Anything added to your car at all?

No lol. It does sound like a super charger whine though. I am completely stock.

It is definitely affected by when the car shifts though.

Sounds like engine intake noise. Try plugging the stupid sound induction tube, I did using some foam on the first elbow connection and my car is much quieter now.

The noise is heard from around the shifter/AC center area. When the car shifts or I manually shift it can either quiet down the noise or make it louder depending if it's shifting up or down

I do hear a little whistle on mine when it starts to downshift, but it's not as consistent as that, I would for sure get that checked out for sure,it may be fine, but you never know

I took it to the dealer for an oil change and had them check it out 2 months ago. They said they called a GM engineer and told me it was working fine. Not sure to believe it or take it to another dealer.

Yeah the problem is, that is proven all on the fourms that mostly everyone with a A8 will hear alittle whine, it's just the transmission, but it just shouldn't be that noticeable, does it make the noise all the time or only somtimes?

All the time in the same gears and the same acceleration/deceleration. It's not a random whine or whistle it's very consistent which is why I am unsure if it's normal or not.

Whine could be normal, not whistle, that variation as per engine rpm could only come from the engine intake.
