Chrome strip under running lights

Anyone know how to remove this? I'd like to black it out, and it feels like it just pulls out, but I'm hesitant to just grab and rip it off.

I'll give it a try tonight. So basically just pull straight out or do I need to go at an angle?

Might be easier to check if it's possible to get to them from behind. Either from underneath the bumper or from the wheel well. On. The V6 Rs the upper chrome strips are clips and the lower chrome strips are secured with separate slide in locking clips. Not sure which the v8s have in their chrome pieces but I found it easier to remove mine from behind. Was unable to do it by just pulling on them.

I can't quite figure it out. It FEELS like you just pry at the side towards the middle of the car, but at the same time feels like it's breaking. I'm afraid to just yank at it.

That was my other thought. Was considering doing that and just spraying them black sorta like with my bowties.

I noticed on the SS 1LE these seem to be black. Not sure if they paint them, or if there is a separate part number though...may be worth looking into.

Got it tonight by just taping them off carefully and doing it that way. I'll get some pics when it's light tomorrow.

What did you use to spray them with? I'm interested in doing this to my car.

I've done both, the easiest way to do this with 3M vinyl di-noc off Amazon ...just cut a strip, use heat gun and lay it on ....it works perfect

All gone:

Did you use that to cover the chrome trim around the bowties too?
