You will only be bashed in this thread...

The Camaro costs a little more - possibly impacting sales.
Recommends the Camaro for those that don't have that "in your blood Mustang love".

So, pretty much saying what has been said for like 500 pages in this thread.

The Camaro is the better car and costs more. Yes, I think everyone here knows at this point.
The point was that the numbers don't mean as much as overall appeal and cost for the majority of consumers. The current sales data would support that.

That actually wasn't the point, he specifically said it wasn't about the price difference.

If there was a point it is that he is admittedly a "Mustang guy" and just prefers it's looks and didn't care about the best performance.

Which there is nothing wrong with but isn't the indictment of the Camaro that the post tried to present it to be.

I watch his channel a lot too. He really loved the Camaro when he tested it. I was actually kinda surprised that he chose the mustang too be honest. But hey if you want to know why these cars aren't selling, listening to people that chose not to buy them tell you why is a good starting point.

The guy in video makes a few valid points including the chevy over engineered the camaro for the market which increased cost...I'm honestly surprised how much an ss convertible costs...to me personally the cost is too high..but ain't still buying a stang...

I don't think anything would have made him buy the Camaro. As already stated, the Mustang GT was his dream car. The GT would have had to been a huge POS in order for someone to give up on buying their childhood dream car. And the Mustang isn't a POS. Of course he speculates why the Camaro is struggling sales wise, but they weren't necessarily his reasons for not buying it.

And the irony is, it was his review of the Camaro SS on his channel that really made me want the 16 Camaro, the sheer joy and surprise on his face when he was driving the Camaro.....I had to show my wife that part (and she is not a car person, lol).

He even said that he was a "mustang guy" in that video but he sure was enjoying driving that Camaro.

After that, I knew that would be what I wanted to drive.

You can't put a price on walking out to drive to work every day and knowing how much you are going to enjoy that drive.

Makes it easier to go to work to pay for it, lol.

I like others looked at all three pony cars before buying. I could afford any of the 3 in the trim I wanted. IMO you really couldn't go wrong with any of the 3. What settled it for me was the ability to get the car equipped the with what I wanted, performance and technology.

I eliminated the Challenger on technology. The platform needs a serious update starting with the power train. Both Ford and Chevy are offering better power, transmissions and creature comforts than the Mopar right now.

I eliminated the Mustang after agonizing between the two for months before actually sitting down and figuring out exactly what I wanted. I drive my car for work and my wife, who can't drive a stick does also occasionally. This meant the reasonable choice for us would be the auto. This put me in a box with the Mustang as I wanted a "special" car meaning something other than a base GT or SS. When I started looking at upgrade features I looked at the performance package on the GT and quickly discovered that it was not available if you bought an automatic. Furthermore the Premium GT gauge package didn't even have an oil pressure gauge (what sports car doesn't include a full gauge package?). What twisted me even more was that the performance package was something like $2400 and included additional coolers, a Torsen rear axle, upgraded shocks, struts and sway bars. This great deal for this package made me feel like I was getting cheated as these were features that I wanted but Ford wouldn't sell them to me because I was a apparently not deserving due to the transmission choice. This really turned me off to the Mustang. (BTW the performance package is available with autos but only in European export cars which ticked me off even more)

Conversely speaking I was able to choose exactly the options I wanted on the Camaro. For the money I felt this car was a far better value based on the aftermarket parts I'd have to buy to get the Mustang to equal my Camaro with Mag Ride, dual tone exhaust (love the adjustablility of these two options), sun roof (not even offered on the Mustang) and stereo that supports Android Auto. The only two things I really didn't like on the Camaro was the inability to choose spoiler delete and I'm not a fan of DLRs.

So 6 months living with my Camaro and still love getting in and driving it. I'm sure I would have been happy with the Mustang but why buy a 10 when you can have an 11.

Well, what happens when Ford gives the GT a slight power bump, and makes the A10 available (in the GT)?
If those things happen for MY '18 I don't see this trend reversing.

Yuuup! The only thing that'll happen is the 'Stang guys will be the one bitchin' about the price. That's the same A10 on the ZL1 and that thing probably ain't cheap.

The SS will likely get it too. Right now the auto option is $300 different between the 6 speed auto in the Mustang and 8 speed in gen Camaro. It will likely be equal down the road.
