Performance exhaust vs warranty
New owner to a gen 6 camaro(v6). Will putting a new performance exhaust void the warranty?
Thanks for your feedback |

Note, your exhaust is not considered part of the powertrain warranty. As stated above it is covered by a Federal Emissions warranty. Technically changing exhaust only removes your ability to make a claim against exhaust related issues on your bumper to bumper coverage.

The real world answer on this is you need to go talk to your dealer if you are concerned. Because although the dealer may be wrong ,it will cost you more to prove it than it's worth. So talk to the service mgr and see how they view it. It's absolutely true it doesn't affect warranty, but some jerk dealers still will give you flack about working on the car.
