If installed decently, the stuff is pretty much un-noticeable unless you get very close and look at an edge. Had clear bra on my 5th gen. Nobody knew unless I told them. I have a set for my 6th gen too, but haven't installed it yet.

Can you post a close up picture of it please? I'm thinking of doing the same.

Here's a closeup of mine on the roof with Xpel and Opticoat Pro. This is just an Iphone pic. I hope to get some good shots with my Sony sometime soon. I took these pictures after using soap and rinse at a high pressure spray-wand type car wash. I then dried it off with micro fiber towels.

The Expel is on the left side of this picture. This is the front area of the roof. The front area of the roof can be seen in the reflection picture as well. The line of Xpel covering sort of follows the roof line of the buildings you can see being reflected.

Paint looks good. Very minimal orange peel. Have you done anything to it besides the opti?

I should add they polished it before doing the opticoat but not before doing Xpel. There were many acid rain spots which are unrepairable. There is one on the rear quarter near the roofline that is really bad and actually goes through the paint. However it's difficult to see unleas you're really looking for it. It's only obvious under extreme direct light.

Did you do the full front bumper? How did it turn out? I had mine done and I don't love it, but not sure If i'm being super anal or not.

I did not do the front bumper. To Xpel the front bumper is way too expensive, and the bumper is made of plastic so it is a bit more resilient than painted metal surfaces. For less than the cost of covering with Xpel I could buy a new bumper, have it painted, and install it myself or pay someone to install it.

Here is what I had done with Xpel. I will get some good pics this weekend and make a post about it.
  • A Pillars
  • Roof - about 10" back from the windshield
  • Rockers
  • Rear fender flares
  • Luggage entry to trunk

my front bumper was around $400 to install. I'm going to assume a new front bumper painted and installed is easily around $1200

You're going to regret not doing the bumper,

I already regret spending $2200 on the limited custom install of Xpel and Opticoat Pro I've done. Another $800-900 is better off in my pocket. The paint isn't even great to begin with. My detailer who did the Opticoat found numerous acid rain spots on my brand new car. At the end of the day this is a high volume $50K car from Chevy. It's not worth spending that much on it. I'll be just fine without coating the easily replaceable plastic bumper. Also take note, BeckyD did not Xpel the front of her ZL1 and she tracks it consistently. I recently checked it out and the bumper is in fine shape.

Here is the worst acid rain spot on the rear fender near the c pillar. This is down to the metal and not repairable without repainting. It's only noticeable under very bright light and you have to look pretty hard to find it.
