My Problems Never End

7/11 - Steering rack is bad and needs to be replaced. Also asked them to put the black emblems on the car. I bought the car with them included in the price so it needed doing as well as an oil change.

7/22 - I get the car back. Steering is fixed. Now the car has a hesitation especially noticeable when accelerating from low rpms. It looks like the shifter wants to jump out of the car it shakes so much. Also the idiot who put the bowties on took a screwdriver to my deck lid emblem to get it off putting a bunch of chips in the paint.

7/23 - I bring the car back for said issues. The have the deck lid completely repainted and striped. They said they found no hesitation or driveability issues. They said they even hooked their scan tool up to it while test driving to see if there were any misfires.

8/2 - I get the car back. Rally stripe has a big bubble in it. Hesitation under acceleration is still there. I say "maybe it's bad gas" .. drive the gas out of it put new gas in from a high yield exxon station and same issue.

8/3 - I take the car back. Get the service manager to go for a ride with me in the car to show him the problem. 2nd gear hard acceleration you can hear the popping and feel the hesitation and he's straight faced there is nothing wrong. I said ok lets drive one of the brand new ones for comparison. Now he agrees with me it's a problem and will engage gm engineering support to help them fix it and they will have the bubble fixed in the stripe.

At least this time I got a loaner that is comparable in price: Fully loaded LTZ Z71 Silverado with 91 miles on it. Starting to feel like my first 5k miles with the car are going to be the best ones I get.

And here I am (in Winston Salem) about to place my order Monday for a 2SS M6 NPP MRC. Posts like this scare me.

Half of this sounds more like incompetent techs instead of direct faults with the car. Granted, there are a couple of issues mechanically for sure. Good luck and hope they fix that hesitation issue, that's surely strange.

Also nice loaner. I'm rolling in a base Equinox. Granted my Camaro was prob $15k less than yours, but a nicer loaner would be nice. first world problems, truely...

This, an A+ dealership is the key to a great experience. Mechanical failures the first couple years of a brand new vehicle are very common.

Colt h my 2ss has been perfect and I've checked every problem I've seen on Camaro6. I do run out in the garage to check every time I read of an issue!
I think some GM dealers are causing some self inflicted injuries should you have to take in for a issue which wouldn't be unusual on a mechanical beast.

Yes post steering rack replacement the future issues all stem from the service department personnel not the vehicle. I love the car and you will too!

As far as the sweet loaner ride goes I forgot something in the trunk of my car so I went back to get it and they were like "we need the truck someone is buying it". I said the only way you are getting this truck that's on loan to me is if you put me in something nicer. I'm not going back to a volt or shit trim silverado.... now I'm in a 2016 Suburban LTZ with everything! Im ok with this til my car is fixed and I will not be going back there til it's done in case they try to sell this one on me.

I almost bought from Terry Labonte ... the sales staff there were very nice, I just happened to find a more appealing vehicle elsewhere.

You can have the car serviced for warranty issues at any dealership. Try Terry Labonte then to see if they can fix it. Your issues with the emblems are the exact reason I told my dealer I would install the arm and knee pads and I had to fight them a little on it. Too worried they'd mess somthing up

PLEASE relax when reading "all" these problems. Purely statistics... Some cars are perfect but the dealer screws up with service. Some cars have mechanical problems and the dealer fixes them perfectly. Some cars have mechanical issues and the dealer says it's normal or doesn't fix it correctly.. BUT... BUT... BUT

The vast majority of forum readers are having no problems. Please don't be afraid to fly if you read about a plane crash..

Enjoy this great car.

Funny... But a plane is still the safest way to travel. Not to mention more people frequent air travel than buying a Camaro... But I do believe that problems are statistically higher on first year production autos... I wouldn't shy away this car, but I would wait on the 2018 before purchasing. But our problems are our problems. They are real and shouldn't be dismissed. I would advise potential Gen 6th buyers a since of caution. Many people keep saying the majority of 6th Gen Camaro are not having issues, but yet more and more new owners are having issues. Only time will tell..

I still have not gotten mine back. I was responding to a GM survey last night, and I realized that after buying the car on 4-9-16, it has only been in my possession for 47 days.

I was thinking maybe I'll just lemon law this thing and buy an SS .. more of a family car but still a lot of fun to drive. GM dealers can't even sell the ones they have in stock. They are waiting on parts from Australia due to a seatbelt recall with no ETA. This means as bad as my problems are there are people out there who have bought a car and haven't even had the chance to drive it.

Really though I do just want my car back and I completely agree with previous statements that aside from the initial repair (and the two weeks it took) my problems have all been created by the work performed in the service department.
