I have an automatic so I need to find out if they (ARH) have one that would work for me.
I just got my rear section Borla ATAK on, it sounds nice but I would still love a deeper rumble. |

ARH might have an H pipe but the design is made to fit their system only. I looked at it last week and its a very short crossover pipe with an odd connection point, probably just made for their systems. It also looks like the reloacted the o2 sensors since their catted headers cat's are lower than oem.
![]() Plus another factor is mating it up with the rest of the stock system. At least on my NPP stock system the mid section with the Xpipe and flex joints is VERY bumpy and curvy. Chevy used every single spare millimeter hugging the exhaust to the car. So adapting the pipe above to the remainder of the stock system is gonnna be a pain. PLus the stock X pipe section is a prefabbed piece welded in place more towards the back. So im not sure that pipe with even be long enough to eliminate the stock x section. I'm not saying its not doable....but to get it to work, you'll almost have a cat back of sorts. IMO at the end of the day, exhaust manufactures really need to step up their game with an H pipe option. 99% of the time the crossover section is it's own piece, so making a pipe option that fits in place of the X pipe section, should be a no brainer. SW does with the 15+ mustangs. Yet with us, they look at us like we're being weird when we ask them about it.

Well I'm finally getting ready to order headers but really debating what brand to get and what type of crossover pipe, reason I say this is because I need something that will hook-up right at the catback (ARH Intermediate system) vs the long system ARH makes which hooks up to the axleback and than would interfere with the AFM valves/motors as I don't want any codes/motors rigged up under that car. So really looking at the ARH intermediate system with H-PIPE but not sure as it looks like in the picture there crossover pipe starts closer to the headers than something like stainless works or kooks, I just don't want any fitment issues with Hpipe when cars come with Xpipe. It also really comes down to does the HPipe loose more power over XPipe if that's what our cars have??? So many unknowns! I see on this website they say H-Pipe is better for low end torque vs Xpipe better overall flow and better top end (http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts...pipe-vs-h-pipe). Sorry for the ramble I hope someone can shed some light!

Even then you may be talking 1-2 hp difference in certain areas of the power curve which can be chalked up to error In my professional opinion there is no difference in power but there is a slight difference in tone. There is a huge science to H and X pipes as long as you have one or the other your good, either is better than nothing by a lot. The bigger issue is Placement, chassis designs limit Optimal placement in many cases. A lot of testing and calculations go in to finding optimal placement, then change one thing in the engine combo and it goes out the window. To recap as long as you have one or the other your good. We are an ARH dealer, feel free to call, we will be happy to help you choose the right system for your car and your goals for your car now and in the future. Ted.

I 100% agree. I actually did a back to back test of this on my previous Coyote Mustang. That car had cat deletes too, and the X only gained 1-2 PEAK rwhp. The H pipe sounded better, so it stayed...

MRT is actually now selling their catback system with an H-pipe. Here's the website that has videos on it:
http://www.shopmrt.com/Exhaust-System-s/2045.htm And here's a link to the video of what's currently on my car: I'm also planning on starting a thread on on these mufflers from my perspective so far, should be up soon!

MRT has their catback out? Cool stuff. They were the ones with the j-pipes on the last gen right?
Nope, it was someone else. It is Solo Performance.

That MRT H-pipe looks really weird, why didnt they just put the H in where the pipes come close together anyway? Is there a benefit in having it as close to the headers as possible?
