I always say I'm the driver and not the mechanic but try to stay pretty well informed on what is going on. I'm kind of thinking that these direct injection motors would have to respond more to throttle position than air flow because they are more well... direct but I really don't know for sure. Is there a way to work around that in the tune?

The bypass valve should be before the intercooler, then the MAF should be after the intercooler and the Meth injection should be after the MAF. The further you move the MAF from the engine the more lag in signal. Remember Air flows like a Slinky, you move the Throttle then the MAF sees the change in air flow, then the computer changes the injector on time and spark values. The further it is the more the time delta. Ted.

This is the first methanol system I have had in a daily driver and I think it only starts to spray above 6 psi of boost but if I'm moving fast it will empty the one gallon of meth before I go through a tank of gas. Haven't put the car on the road course but I know there it will use all the meth probably with a half a tank of gas....it definitely is a meth addict. So far in the 5000 miles I've driven the car with turbos on it I've used about 12 gallons of meth. Its fine if I stay in town but if I put the car on the open road I have to fill the meth tank when I come home. One full throttle burst over 175mph will use about 1/3 of a gallon. I can't argue with the results though.... it will get up and run.

It's all good, if I didn't have your comments I wouldn't know what to ask the builder....lol. I'm constantly learning more about all this stuff and just about the time I think I've got it kind of figured out GM comes up with a new engine....

I agree on the placement of things on the kit. The tuner who did his car even expressed those concerns to AGP.

9psi for 550hp? something seems off to me with that. |

These were some earlier leaning experiences with a different dyno and different tuner that left us with a number of problems that he couldn't remedy. He was commanding 13.5:1 at WOT
![]() We took it to a better tuner who had no problem clearing everything up and getting the tune right and safe. |

Since it has been brought up what is a good target a/f or lambda? I always went 11.5-11.8 on the ls stuff.
