Good Luck with that. My wife drove my '80 Z-28 but wouldn't drove my 2010 and won't drive my 2017. I even suggested the parking lot thing to her, but no go.

I made the mistake of testing the bulb twice (twice because I just really liked the way it looked ) before attaching the resistor to the body of the car. At that point, it was on for a full minute...and trying to attach it was not a pleasant experience...

Also, I recommend having the backside of the resistor completely touching the metal body of the car. That would help bleed heat off of it the best. I took a crap ton of super detailed pics if anyone needs. I used the kit from Gen5DIY, and it's very different looking than the one they have a picture of. Also, their instructions made me more confused than anything else. But as stated, Sledgehammer70 has a great vid for another method.

Car was completed yesterday. They worked on the four issues.
  • Red knee pads that were on back order - installed
  • Missing rally stripes on tonneau - installed
  • Misapplied rally stripes - redone
  • Trim screw I found was installed back where it was supposed to go
I would take some pics, but she needs a bath and they don't want me to get her wet until tomorrow at the earliest. After tonight, she will be in bed until I get back from Florida late next week.



What a journey. Whew! Glad you folks were here as well as many others on the site. I will stick around too. I really enjoy the whole Q&A thing going one. Some stuff I will do later (when it cools down here) so I am taking notes.

Glad you got your Camaro issues resolved finally. Can't wait to see pics of it finally completed per order sheet. As well as any upcoming mods.

Mobil 1 full synthetic 5W-30, 10qts, paired with a high performance Mobil 1 Filter M1-113. This info is for the SS btw.

I am in the camp of keeping non-synthetic through the break-in. Then Mobile 1 synthetic. I believe you need to let the engine wear before putting in synthetic. So I changed out break-in at 830 miles. I will run the standard oil for another 1-3K.
