Need thoughts on this deal

2016 2SS, Silver Ice Metallic, Jet black interior, A8, MRC, NPP, Navigation

MSRP $47,730
Dealer price $43,995 (includes destination)
I have a $1,000 Private offer

Net purchase price $42,995

Based on what others have snagged deals for lately, this seems to be a good price. I don't need MRC or Navigation but I have found most dealers around my area anyway don't want to budge on pricing AT ALL. This is a 3 hour drive but looks worth it. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Picked up mine just over 2 months ago for $42.8. Don't have MRC but do have the sunroof. Was to good a deal to pass up.

That is a good price. MRC and NAV are worth it. The NAV is really nice in this car as it integrates with HUD, display on the dash and provides the little speed limit signs on the database. For $500 bucks it is worth it. I like MRC, not so much for a firmer suspension but for Tour mode, which softens it up for highway cruising and crappy roads.

Not bad for the options, make sure to go over it with the checklist, find the smallest flaw and have them knock another $1k off the price and keep the p.o. up your sleeve until. It's a '16 so if you drive that far they know your serious, you should be able to get something off being it's last year's model, '17 are already on the lots.

I looks like there is another $800 in options in there you didn't list. Does it have upgraded wheels or something else? My car is pretty much the same except that is was Mosaic Black ($395) and my MSRP was $47,200.

It's a very good deal. Whether or not it's worth a 3 hour drive can't be answered by us.

Edit: if you don't need/want navigation then it's not as great of a deal. You'd have an MSRP of around low 45,000 without them, so they're only $1000 under MSRP.

You should check with your dealers closer to you. You say they aren't budging but I imagine you haven't really tried or made a serious offer. These are cars they want to sell in high volumes. They aren't like the 2010s and have a markup. Many people have gotten 8-10% off MSRP on this site. Find a dealer and make a serious offer and they WILL come down.

Good price... Plus you will find the SIM color is not as popular - hence lower numbers produced

Sounds like a good deal to me, the question is will you be happy with the car. That's the main thing.

That is a good price with those options. Not sure exactly what you are wanting but I would think you could find something cheaper if it did not have MRC or Navigation. Becky has a few 2SS without MRC for less than $42,000.
I have also found that most dealers do not want to budge at all on pricing. Some dealers have stoped at the educator pricing I am able to get on 2016 models. The GM site shows I can get the educator pricing on 2017 models so why would I buy a 2016 when I could get a 2017 for just a little more than what they wanted me to pay. Some dealers must be clueless to other prices that are out there or they are just waiting for that local buyer that will just come in an pay MSRP. Today I did find a dealer near Atlanta, GA that listed $5,000 off all Camaro's MSRP on their website. I do not know anything about them and unfortunately they did not have what I wanted, but that is the best that I have seen anywhere.

Oh I think it is definitely worth a three hour drive. No doubt about that. I love the SIM color. As far as checking locally, I was at a local dealer all evening working on a deal for a white 2016 2SS that stickers at $45,050. They wouldn't even go down to invoice on it... at MONTH END! And that seems to be par for the course with dealers within 100 miles of me. No movement on price. I could understand if they were selling fast, but 2SS models are NOT selling fast around here. I've watched inventory like a hawk for three months. Only a handful have sold. So weird why they seemingly refuse to move the 2016 SS inventory...

I would tell them to take another $500 off and remove the side spears before you take delivery. That will put it at like 11% off MSRP with your private offer. That is a pretty good deal. I would get the NAV and MRC. You can't add them later. You are already spending a bunch of money, what is a couple grand more to get it loaded up at this point.

Driving 3 hours tomorrow to pick up the S.O.'s new '17 Caddy. The drive will give your time to get acquainted with your new ride.
