Lol, I have to laugh...I have an Xbox 360 that makes Ferrari sounds just like that and I don't like it there either. Give me a made in the USA V8 muscle car sound any day. As a matter of fact, for me and my taste, some US made pick up trucks sound a whole lot better than either this Ferrari or the Mustang GT350, Rams being the best!

First person in the world that thinks a Ram pick up sounds better than a Ferrari or Shelby...lol

With the GT350, you have to get the tech package to get away from the tiny screen/crappy infotainment, but the 8" screen is in all SS cars.

The 1le comes with more options than the gt350 TP. Basically, option wise it would be comparable to a gt350 with the track and tech package but you currently can't even get both packages on Mustang, but I guess that's changing for 2017.
Thanks for the info. I honestly don't know what is included in each vehicles packages. I would have assumed halogens would have been the standard and not Xenon or LED. If the 1SS 1LE is equipped as well as or better than the GT350, than yeah, it will hopefully be the better bargain for the money!

Compared to the standard GT350 it is almost certain to represent a much better value. I expect overall performance to match or exceed the GT350 at a lower price point then it.

Doc7000: Yeah, I most certainly fell in love with the 1LE when I saw it at the Chicago Auto Show. Im just not the guy who wants a stripped out performance car. This vehicle would be a DD during the summer as I live in South East WI. Being a DD and not just a Track Toy, I prefer to have some creature comforts and technology features. From what I recall of the articles and vehicles Ive seen in person, the GT350 seemed to have a pretty nice interior etc. IMO, Im not worried about the performance of the 1LE, I know it'll be very good. I want to have a nice car. I know most will say I should be looking at a ZL1 if I want everything in the same package, but that car isn't for me. As I said above as well, I just think that when everyone is comparing vehicles, they should take into consideration everything about the car, not just its performance numbers.

When people compare a vehicle they should buy what they want, not everyone even cares about all of the features on a car. After all it isn't like the 1LE is some stripped down track car, all 6th generation Camaros for example comes with touch screens (GT350 doesn't come standard with that). Infact to get the features that you probably want in the GT350 you will have to spend thousands more for it. The standard GT350 is now $58,000 bucks now, and the convenience package is another $3,000 and it has...

The Convenience Package includes:

• Leather-trimmed Sport Seats with seat back map pockets
(replaces standard RECARO® Cloth/Miko® Suede Sport Seats)
- 4-way Adjustable Head Restraints
- 6-way Power Driver Seat with Power Lumbar
- 6-way Power Passenger Seat
- Climate Controlled Front Seats (Heated/Cooled)
- Memory Recline (Driver's side only)

• 9 Speaker Audio System
• SiriusXM® Radio
• SYNC® 3
• Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (DEATC)
• Soft Door Rollover
• Turn Signal Mirrors
• Universal Garage Door Opener
• Voice-Activated Navigation System

This will take you to over $60,000 for the car, or you can go for the electronic package which is also $3,000 and has...

The Electronics Package is optional on the Shelby GT350® and includes:

• 9 Speaker Audio System
• SiriusXM® Radio
• SYNC® 3
• Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (DEATC)
• Soft Door Rollover
• Turn Signal Mirrors
• Universal Garage Door Opener
• Voice-Activated Navigation System

Though if this is what you want and you are willing to pay the money for it then certainly go for it. I know I wouldn't be happy until I have what I want, though I don't like to settle....

GT350 doesn't have any additional creature comforts over the 1LE.

So you're talking over 60k for a comparable gt350. If the 1le package is only 7k, that's 45k.

That is a CONSIDERIBLE difference in value. At 60k+ you're getting into ZL1 territory which would annihilate even the GT350r. Personally a 60-65k car is out of reach.

I'm in the same field, $60k is too far, hell even $50k would be difficult. My 4th gen SS and my motorcycle would probably have to go for that kind of money. I'm not really one to settle either. I purchase a vehicle I want because it's exactly what I want (or damn close - I won't lose out on something because of one or two options it may have or not have). I get that for some people, they may only care about the performance and nothing else, to each their own. Just when cross shopping, the "other stuff" does affect the pricing. I'm not a cross shopper, it's be a Camaro for me. If I won a GT350 or R in a raffle, I wouldn't get rid of it. But if Im spending my own money, it's going to be on a Camaro or Corvette.

When you get to the mid 60s range, honestly the Corvette Grand Sport is going to be the money car. I love the ZL1, but until it gets into consumer's hands and demonstrates reliable laps at full tilt boogie. That GS is looking sooooooo gooooood.

As a 1LE fan. It'll be a 1LE uber alles in 17 for me. No competing Ford can hang in a like for like comparison to the current Chevy lineup.
SS>GT
1LE>GT350
ZL1waaaayyyyy>GT350R
Z/28>?????

Seriously Ford? Get on the ball guys.

These are great days to be a bowtie fan I tell ya.

Never know, the gen 5 1LE was faster around VIR than the Ford GT by 2 1/2 seconds, the same gap as between the 997 GT3 RS and the gen 5 1LE on the same track.

Probably, but speaking of GM lineup, the MR ZR1 that is supposedly being developed may be a direct competitor to the GT.
