Why Does Torque Response Feel Different On M6 Then A8

So I have 2016 2SS M6 and after driving it for one month and about 1100 miles, the only complaint I have is the torque response on a manual feels much different than a automatic . My friend has a 2016 2SS auto and when I drove his , you feel that jolt in ur seat when you step on the gas but in my manual I don't feel as much of a jolt when I stomp on the gas pedal . Anyone else feel this also ?

The automatic tends to keep the motor in the sweet spot of the torque curve.

8 speeds vs 6 speeds you are GOING to feel a difference. Think about the gear ratios.

What exactly are you doing? From a standstill? Rolling?

I have the V6. But I have found I feel more of a pull if I go roughly 3/4 throttle than I do if I floor it.

Either from a standstill or roll I feel it . Also agree with hitting it 3/4 of the way , I feel a little more then if I hit the pedal all the way down and go wide open

Because of the gear ratio/torque multiplication and the speed at which the 8l90E automatic transmission shifts at. Example: The A8 has a 4.56:1 first gear compared to a 2.66:1 first gear ratio of the TR6060 manual.

4th gear is bad ass in the M6. Best gear.
Hit 4th and it is a totally different beast.

The rear axles ratios are different though, 3.73 in manual vs. 2.77 auto.
Link to all the gear ratios.

Is the jolt you are referring to the downshift of the automatic? You should get similar torque if you select the right gear in your manual. If you are crusing at 35mph in 4th gear and mash the pedal you will obviously not get the same torque as you would if you rev match and downshift into 2nd gear, which is what the auto will do if you mash the throttle.

I totally agree regarding the A8. The WOT is amazing. It feels like the transmission is coming out of the floorboard.
