My car has only done this one time. And that was a day that we had a fog that had just lifted so there was extremely high humidity. Even then it only showed up in small areas after I had stopped in a parking lot. I run my AC on 72 all the time. I have been driving it regularly in mid to high 90s weather since with no issues.

This isn't just a problem with the Camaro's my 15' 2500HD did this a few times the only way I could get it to stop was run the heat on the windshield to take it away and then turn the air back on.
I haven't experienced this issue in the Camaro yet, But I haven't driven it much since I've got it.

This is what I posted in the Texas section about the fogging windshield:
The only reason I bought a GM vehicle is the discount I get, If this continues to be a problem for me. I will sell this car and tell them why, I will no longer by a GM vehicle using my GM Family First Discount. I've never worked for GM, years ago (1986) I worked for Hughes Aircraft Company in ElSegundo Ca.,the division I worked for developed the heads up display used by GM, GM acquired Hughes Aircraft to get control of this technology to use in their vehicles, so for a short time I was part of the GM family, until they realized all of the other items Hughes was building, ie military weapons and other stuff, they sold all things to Raytheon, but I was still able to continue to buy any GM vehicle using this discount program. I've had a Saturn Sky, a GMC Jimmy, and GMC Envoy, my parents, brothers, and sister can also use this discount program. |

![]() Mine has never ever been that bad and it's been brutally humid here lately but I rarely have the car on full blast max. The cars HVAC doesn't work like cars of old. If you set it on 60, it will try to reach 60. Yes, air leaks out the defrost vent but it shouldn't be as bad as yours. |

Fogging windshield
Quote:
Let me reiterate I'm not running it at 60 wide open. I'm stating it is excessively fogging up even at 74. To deal with it ive set both zones to 75 fan on low setting. Old or new cold is cold. My gto and blazer ac will run you out of there. Could store meat in the cabin and it wouldn't thaw. I don't think it's just my car either. There are others experiencing it as well. I also don't believe that GM wants to fix it. The fogging is so bad you drive down the road broad daylight no rain at all and have to run your wipers to clear the windshield fogging. That isn't right and shouldn't be happening. Maybe some on here are rich enough to just go pay cash for a $50,000.00 car and accept issues with it and not care but not me. I don't care what brand it is be it a car, a gun, a tv, etc. If I pay for it and it's not right then it's not right and I don't want it period. Especially when the manufacturer can't or won't address it. My huge 4k tv has an amazing picture the sound system is fantastic but if it had a flaw with a giant purple splotch in the middle of the screen and forum Einsteins and the manufacturer kept disputing the issue I would never accept being told just turn the brightness way down or turn the tv off then back on each time. To me that's just an excuse and or sheer incompetence. If I wanted a race car without a working air conditioner that would be one thing but this is not the case. To literally dislike driving the car all summer because the friggin ac system sucks and it's uncomfortable to be in to a point you would rather drive a damn dodge or an old truck out to dinner isn't being salty it's called being fedup with paying way to much for a piece of crap. Pretty car, nice power, nice braking and handling but a poorly executed air and defrost system sucks. Just my thoughts on my car. Maybe most aren't like this idk but mine has issues that are more than an annoyance and I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of it. |

What is it going to take is someone getting hurt or killed in a accident due to this issue before GM decides to fix it, I hope and pray no one does but seems like that's what it takes before any of these big companies act. I've got an appointment with the dealer in the morning for the issue, at least they will have a document saying I brought it in and they couldn't fix it. At lest if something happens they can't say I didn't let them know about it and plus all the topics on here talking about it. I'm going to try to upload a video I made. https://youtu.be/q9KY4yON3Xwhttps://youtu.be/CLY1x__-pZg |

Buy a stuffed animal you like and lay over the vent in question. I have a stuffed snake I use on my wife's Impala to prevent windshield fogging. |

Maybe I could create a whole line of winshield defrost vent covers and put them on an infomercial.

I've had the windshield fog up a couple times with the a/c on. Nothing major, small area at the very bottom, nothing that hindered my visibility.

Ok update, went to dealership this morning and as expected they found nothing wrong and they did say this is normal and if the humidity is up and say it's 81 then u should run the air at 75+ to balance the system or roll the windows down. They did say all thier cars do this and that's why it's normal and they are not going to do anything. They gave me three choices either live with it, move to a state that has a lower humidity, or sell the car. So I told them I'll be selling the car and filing a complaint with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This is really sad because I really love this car, I got some great offers today. So now it's time to think about options sell or jerry rig my brand new car. Good luck to you all.
