Maybee the numerous E-mails I had with Chevrolet Customer Care, and other owners on this forum showing same frustration with fogging windshield, will make GM address and fix this, I hope while your car is getting look at, they don't do any further damage. Keep us posted on how/what they do to correct this.

I have talked to a GM tech and they said it's a simple fix but they have to write a script to tell the computer to shut the vent. It's a simple update but it's getting GM to recognize its a problem, taking mine to the dealership Saturday.

If this is true and enough complaints get back to GM hopefully it will just be a simple computer update. Sure is frustrating until that day comes.

I have started taking videos and pictures with my smartphone for documentation purposes. The biggest problem for me now is fogging on the outside of the windshield. But it is so bad, I can wipe with my wipers and the whole windshield in engulfed in fog 5 seconds later. VERY DANGEROUS. I will be bringing this up to my dealer (sales and service) because they have not done their final inspection of my Camaro since they dealer traded for it and I drove it back from Alabama. I am going to try and get them to pressure GM to investigate and roll this into a fixable TSB or recall. |

If the vent is there and just not closing due to a software programming oversight then that would be ideal. Probably just needs some HVAC programing to tell it to keep the vent closed unless the defrost on windshield is selected. I find it hard to believe this never came up during testing. Do they only test these cars in super low humidity environments?

I think I've got the worst one out there. Definitely going to the dealer.

Fogging windshield
Update on mine.
I dropped mine off Monday morning. My dealer scanned for codes or updates. There weren't any codes and the software was up to date. They added a feature via programming. It states on the paperwork there weren't any problems found and customer was notified of reprogramming of blend door functions and feature added to help alleviate the fogging of the windshield. I picked the car up the ac was set at 70 degrees fan on medium and as soon as I pulled out of the dealership then up to the red light waiting to turn the windshield started fogging. I turned both zones up to 75 and placed the fan on low to lessen the fogging. I called my service department and they pretty much told me this a GM problem that I will have to wait until they release a recall. I understand the frustration as my wife drove my car to the dealer which isn't 10 minutes from our house and she literally had to run the wipers in dry weather to clear the fogging from the windshield. When we arrived she was like I don't understand why we can't even run the ac on at all without the air escaping onto the windshield fogging it up. |

Yeah I've got a full on Bat symbol that forms on my wind shield. It's massive. Turning off recirc does nothing. It mostly only occurs in the morning when the dew point is getting crossed, but it's an enormous fog up.

Fogging windshield
GM internally has stated this condition is normal. That it's a characteristic of this car.
On its 3rd trip to the dealer service department this is the result with no improvement. Literally run my ac at 75+ and fan on low is my only option. Drive my truck or wifes car when we go out unless it's a cool evening which is rare here in Florida. |

GM needs to add a line item on the window sticker under Safety & Security stating:
Excessive fogging on windshield will be present while running A/C, this condition is normal and is a characteristic of this car. |

Fogging windshield
Yes it is. I'm just sharing what steps and results my car has received. Or lack thereof. I hope someone else with this issue has better luck. The rest of the car is amazing but still hard to accept considering what I paid for it. It's either turn ac off, turn it up above 75 degrees with fan all the way down or drive my old truck or wifes charger if we go out. Can't take our beautiful new camaro out unless we want to sweat to death or have a fogged up windshield with the ac turned on just at a point where we get a little cool air. Can't understand why they designed it to go to 60 but cant run it below 75.
