Knocking or clicking sound

Ive only had my 2016 SS about 3 days when ive noticed a knocking or clicking sound. It sounds like its coming from the front driver side tire but i cant tell for sure. I can only hear it at a very slow roll and when slowly making a turn. Has anyone else experienced this and if so do you know what it is? Im out on vacation so im not able to take it in to the dealership immediately. Any help is appreciated.

The LT1 has direct injection, which is known for making a ticking noise but it sounds like you are describing a suspension related issue? You hear it only when turning at slow speeds?

Are you sure its coming from the front? If its coming from the rear, it is your rear differential. If thats the case, they will change the rear def fluid and all will be well.

What level of octane are you using? Make sure it is at least 91, I only use 93.

Does it only happen in V4 mode? Mine does the same and dealer says it is the fuel line issue and need to get replaced.

Definitely sounds like a suspension issue and not in the motor. Also it sounds and feels like its coming from the front but the fact is its a sports car and from where my seat sits in conjunction with the length of the car it sounds like the front but could be closier to the back. I keep trying to study the sound to pin point it but i cant get it exactly down.
Thanks for the quick replies.

Also im using 93 octane fuel. The dealer had it filled up for me and then i filled up at 1/4 tank with 93. I still have 3/4 of a tank, thats how new it is and already having this issue.....SMH.

Mine was doing this, but sound was coming from rear and only happened during a slow turn. Ended up being rear diff.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Sounds like the exact same issue I posted about two weeks ago. I took it to the dealership. At first, they suspected it was a suspension problem that had been seen on the ATS, but they ruled that out... then they thought it was faulty lug nuts, but that was also ruled out, and they found that it had something to do with the tire not "seating" right... I don't recall the details, I was in a rush to leave when they gave me the car back.

The fix involved deflating the tire, sealing it, then over-inflating it, running it a bit, then bringing it back to 37psi and driving it over the weekend while checking for the sound.

so far the sound has vanished. I even took it to the mall indoor parking place which ampliefies all sound to double and triple check, took some turns to the left, which would result in the clicking sound, and it is still gone.

I don't know if this is a temporary fix or permanent; time will tell.

For me it was coming from the right front wheel area, and only when taking left turns.

Hope that helps. Take it to the dealer when you can.

when do you hear it, does it make the sound on both left and right turns, or just in one direction, and how many degrees of steering wheel rotation do you require for the clicking sound to be made?

Hello TMiller16SS,

Apologies for any frustration this knocking noise concern may have caused. After reading over this thread, I see that you do have an appointment scheduled with your dealership for tomorrow. If you would like, I would be happy to provide an additional layer of assistance while your Camaro is in for service. Please send us a private message along with your full contact information, current mileage, VIN, and preferred dealership if this is something of interest.

We hope to hear from you soon.
