I'll be really happy if the ZL1 is about as fast as a Hellcat on the drag strip and faster than a gt350r around a track and priced under both.

I believe your assuming that it's with a good driver. Fact is there's a lot of them get beat on the street making the argument that hp isn't everything.
Its also important to remember that cars are marketed to ordinary people, be they "car people" or not. Decisions about HP and other performance features are not solely based on the numbers put out by other brands/models. It is a small percentage of consumers that are also amateur race car drivers. Dodge knows that the name "Hellcat" sounds cool; arguably cooler than a couple Zs and numbers put together. They also know that being able to say "my car has over 700 hP", or even "my car puts down over 600 HP at the wheels" is just cool.

Its very possible the mark Dodge was aiming for was the cool factor, numbers be what they may. If true, I think they nailed it.

The Hellkitty regularly kills Z06's in highway pulls, I suspect the ZL1 will suffer the same fate. Just wait until the first turn and the ZL1 will shine. I'm sure this has all been debated ad nauseam. The magazines will get their hands on one soon enough and put it through the paces. The tests I want to see/read:

1) Lightning lap versus all comers
2) Head 2 Head - GT350R, Hellkitty (although I'd doubt they run it)
***Don't be surprised if the H2H guys run something cool against it like a McLaren 570S to prove a point***
3) New Top Gear - Want to see what the Stig makes of this beast.

And vise versa I'll take Z's and number's over goofy name's and cartoon characters. To each their own.

It's great being number 1. Think about it. This is a Camaro forum and there are more people talking about the Hellcat on a daily basis than over on the other forum. Lol. All press is good press. Unless you're Lindsay Lohan. That's a different kind of Hell Kitten.

Well I think we all respect modern muscle. The hell kitty makes the power, doesn't suffer from heat soak and with VERY limited mods is a low 10 second car. (Pulley, tune, injectors, CAI). The problem is the heavy, outdated chassis. I wish Dodge would develop a Barracuda, track only version, but it ain't gonna happen. I also wish Dodge would've let either the Challenger or Charger run the Lightning Lap. It would've performed decently, but it's no road course warrior and 275/40/20 tires under that car with that power should be illegal.

Good chance it will be almost as fast as Hellcat
good chance it will be almost as fast as GT350R around a track
Good chance it will be priced around the same MSRP of the other two.

Camaro will be faster from a dig, but roll on.. I doubt that, unless the zl1 will be much lighter than the cts-v or a lil bit more powerful.

It will definitely be lighter by at least 150 to 200lbs. More power? Probably 10hp unless the ZL1 surpasses the Z06 which would be suprising.

The ZL1 will definitely get the hellcat from a dig with the auto. A roll on will definitely be a good race. Can't wait to see.

If so, then the zl1 can win. +the new a10.
Btw, cts-v is faster than the z06 after the 140mph. I think the zl1 will win against the z06 also(on high speeds).
The problem is that even the base z06 makes 2 much downforce.
Take a look how easy the cts-v reaches 199 mph.

The base z06 can't do thats. Not talking about the stage 1,2...
I hope, the zl1 won't make so much downforce. I dont want it to be a track car. There is a z28 for that.
