No one is saying it won't be. That's not even up for debate. Some of us care by how much, on which tracks and where. Is it faster in the straight? How much MPH can it carry in to and through a corner? Where is it faster than X car on which track? What are the full speeds and times through which gears? What is the 0-100-0. What G will it pull and for how long? How is the damping? Just what exactly is going to be the MSRC programming differences for those of us that can upset the car by using the rumble strips? How does it handle fast sharp corners compared to the non-1LE? Etc. Etc. Etc.

Things like that matter to the people this car is being built for.

The question is how much faster. 1 second? 2 seconds? Would better tires and brakes get me those 2 seconds rather than $25,000 of new debt? Every second counts. Unless you just want a 1LE to have one. I want to make sure I'm spending my money on going faster.

The chances are the car will not be "worth" the new debt you will take it. It's just not going to be.

However, we already know that the complete feel of the car is different. That is something that brakes, tires and other components wont be able to make up. Zeta is just that different from Alpha.

Like I said, we all want data but complaining we don't have it already is funny to me.

It will be faster.

Why spend money on a performance package that doesn't increase performance? Lol!

It's going to be faster. You're going to have to be patient to find how *how* much faster.

Unfortunately I don't think they're going to let me take it to a track to test it out so I'm going to have to go by the "feel" of a spirited drive and numbers from testing.

If it "feels" great. If it's putting down all that new power through the corners. If those Recaros hug me tight and the ELSD and mag ride is really "magic" hell yeah it's worth the money. But I want to see numbers. When RP puts a Laguns Seca time down I'll be paying close attention

Paid $5k for the Z51 package on my Vette and have never once regretted it. The way GM bundles their "light track packs" on entry performance cars (talking non ZL1/Z06) is a no brainer if you are remotely interested in tracking a car.

Similar to when I ordered the Vette, just to get the mag ride, NPP exhaust, and nice wheels put me within $1500 of the Z51 package. The 1LE I expect to be the same way.

I don't know guys, 2; 3; 5 seconds faster than any other Camaro? Is not the real question will we be faster than the GT-350? GT-350R perhaps?
Thats what I'm after.

I am guessing yes or very close. Which is great considering your average guy can order a 1SS LE; you need big money to purchase a 350R these days with the crazy mark-ups.

The 6g SS was actually slower on the streets of willow than the 5th gen 1le. So far that is the only recorded track time of the two cars with the same driver that I've seen.

Except the 1LE had its amazing tires and the SS had the run flats. :respect:

This...put a equivalent tire on the SS and see what happens.

Run flats are not track tires, they are just a good compromise of handling/daily driving/convenience, etc...

When I was at RA earlier this year, there was a Gen5 1LE in my run group, operated by two different people over the weekend. The results were the same in every outing. 1LE would gain some ground on me through turn areas, but would then lose it in the straights. Based on the length of straights, locations and number of turns that counted, I ended up pulling farther and farther away each section. Not leaving in the dust pulling away, but enough to notice the distance after a lap or two. In a track that's split up power and technical, the 1LE and Gen6 SS are pretty evenly matched. It's only when you go more power or more technical that one gives up more to the others. Which is an expected result given the 1LE favoring technical and the Gen6 having more raw power. Even with my OEM pads/rotors (4/2 style) on it, I wasn't really losing too much and was braking hard and deep in to turns myself, just like he was. The owner even stopped me after a couple sessions and we chatted some about both cars. Was a nice guy (he and his brother). Gen6 1LE, if building upon Gen5 and using Gen6SS as a stepping stone, is going to be a serious contender on tracks. For those of you that haven't run your Gen6 anywhere yet, you'd be surprised what the car is capable of as it doesn't really show it just driving around and that's the non-track variants. I got a lot of respect and compliments from other enthusiasts out there.

Well, GM didn't say if you swap the tires on the SS, it will be as fast as the 1LE. They just said it will be as fast, or something along those lines.
