I know my brother was seriously considering a 1LT Camaro a couple months ago, he even liked it over the Mustang GT and Challenger Scat Pack, said it had better handling and the insurance was going to be much cheaper (for him). I know everyone's preferences, needs/wants, and insurance rates are different but I truly believe there is a market for a 1LT 1LE, I think it would make a great SCCA small course car and still get good mileage and have decent torque.....Just don't test drive a SS because it will be tough to "settle" for the V6 after that.
Hell for that matter if you think of it my '87 Trans Am 350TPI only came with around 220hp and 300tq which was (cough) decent for it's day, this V6 camaro would destroy it in every performance category and MPG. Just because we are now living in the new golden age of sports/muscle cars doesn't necessarily mean everyone needs the biggest and best to feed their performance needs. We can't all have ZL1's and Z06's....but i can dream...

I think the V6 1LE is a fantastic idea! I had a 2014 LT and I really liked that V6 it just handled like dog crap and the braking was by far the worst vehicle I ever owned. Drop 200lbs off the chassis and throw some good brakes and tires on it with the new SS suspension? Winner!!!
Edit: The dog crap thing was harsh. I had a lot of fun in that car. The tires sucked or I think it would have handled better.

I think this Motor Trend article where they put the SS wheels and tires on a LT and it totally transformed car (for the better) is very telling! Now add the SS suspension and the V6 1LE should be a very capable car.

It's going to be interesting pricing wise. Truthfully, the V6 package shouldn't be anymore than $1500. The suspension bits are already made just being put on a different trim. Wheels are the biggest thing cost wise.

i can't wait until this car is available to order, Krypton green with Recaros please.
Love my Z but the 1 LE will be in my garage for sure. I had a 13 1 LE with a Captain America theme and miss it dearly.

The 1LE is more than suspension. It has additional track settings that the ZL1 gets too. The launch control is programmable. Then there are a handful of other race modes beyond competition mode. I would think that both the V6 and V8 cars get this. However, I think only the ZL1 gets line lock.
Honestly, if you're enthusiasts and you don't want/need the V8, the 1LE LT is the car to get. |

This right here. Resale value is another. No one is gonna care when you say my V6 is a 1LE. At that point you have a hot chick withs AIDS.

If you are buying a 1LE the last thing you are worried about is the resale. I would venture that about 95% of the buyers of the 5th gen plan on having their unique ride for a long time.
