You were born 50 years ago, so you're 50.

When Austin Powers was cryogenically frozen in '67 then came back in 1997 he still had the same birthday.

He had the same birthday, but he was the age he was when frozen. I wonder if the seals in his Swedish made penis pump were dried out.

I say, "Who cares"...

Anyone who complains about the 50th happening this new model year because it wasn't in production for 50 years should go find a different car to care about... say a Prius?
How fast is the Prius around the Nurburgring?
Is it supercharged?
Does it have NPP?
Can I get the exposed carbon fiber bits?
Does it come with a decal on the windshield that announces I am a Wiener or do I have to get that aftermarket?

Thanks in advance.

Age and anniversary are two mutually exclusive things.

Okay, I have two friends that got married many years ago. They got divorced and then several years later they got remarried and are still married til this day. I don't see how those years they were divorced could be counted just because they are married now. Ill have to ask them how they celebrate their anniversary. I'm sure they will both say that the don't. Lol

Now, I chuckle as much as the next guy at Prius jokes, but I have to admit , on the road I would rather sit behind a Prius than a stinky diesel. Just sayin'

That's true. They also are the ones I find drive the fastest on the highway go figure.

Also, my thread is not meant to be serious. It was just supposed to be in good fun and how my screwed up mind works sometime.

My fear is that when the ZL1 production starts I will have no time to read these posts. Il likely be in a coma after suffering a stroke that they are actually going to build it instead of just talking about it.

Haha! I certainly hope not, but I understand what you're saying. I'm getting 43 badges for mine.

Nurburg.. 7:23 (7 days, 23 hours)
SC = NO, unless you mean the 'fast charge' plug-in for the battery
NPP = NO
Carbon Fiber = YES (tampax holder only)
Decal = Both (although the dealer charges way too much)

The Stones celebrated 50 in 2012, and they arguable broke up during the 86 - 88 years to work on many solo projects...

As previously mentioned, Thunderchickens took time off, celebrated 50 in 2005
Vettes celebrated 50 and had a year off (1983) but still celebrated 50 in 2003
Camaro's actually took 7 1/2 years off (everyone forgets that 1970 was really a half year and the first units didn't get produced until February of 1970
Shelby Cobra celebrated it's 50th Anny in 2015 with a limited production run... and there is NOT 50 years of Cobra's
Volkswagen Beetle, celebrated with a 50th, and took time off of production
So did Mini (arguably a weird situation since several companies owned the rights to build the Mini)
Harley Davidson and Dodge both had 100 year anniversary editions of vehicles. For Harley, they had a LOT of time off of motorcycle production, and Dodge just tacked on the moniker to different vehicles, like the Charger and Challenger in 2014... to celebrate Dodge, not the specific car... although they did make a 25th Anniversary Viper, and that car took a couple years off....

I think any anniversary of anything is based on when it first happened, not whether or not there was a continuous run...

That looks to be the consenus. Technically the vette did produce the 83 car ,but it was a mess. They built I can't remember how many, but quality issues and access to parts had them abort til 84. The cars that were built were either crushed or titled as 84s with one know car having an 83 model year listing. Those were sad times in Corvette land.

The anniversary thing really doesn't make sense to me though in that way. I never claimed to think like most other people though.

The first "ZL1's" were produced in 1969, so wouldn't 2019 be it's 50th, making 2017 it 48th anniversary?
Also 42 of the 43 '83 Corvette proto's were crushed and the only remaining one was given to the Corvette museum, it almost fell in the sinkhole!
