Heard they still are hesitant to release "official numbers" as they r still tweaking the motor and 10 speed tranny for optimum performance... The longer they wait the faster it's gonna get!

It might be a typo earlier but 1770 kg * 2.20462 = 3902 lbs.
That's still a nice diet of 218 lbs from the 4120 lbs predecessor. If the 2018 Z/28 follows the same diet and uses the LS7 engine, that could easily be ~ 3600 lbs vehicle. I definitely see Chevy gunning for the 3781 lbs Ford GT350R. On a slightly separate note for those that like documentation, here is the CARB certification for the 2017 ZL1 that got approved on June 30, 2016. http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/onroad/...6d2_l3-160.pdf

Is this the same type certification VW lied about? Interesting.

Getting back to the OP......There is an interview with Al O where he says if you could afford the old one you can afford the new one. Hoping this means starting price will be under 60k!

He also said it would be in line with the rest of the 6th Gen increases, so expect an increase.

Must have missed that part. Seems contrary to say if you could afford the old one you could afford this one then say that. What was the increase for th 6th gen? According to google the 15 zl1 auto coupe was $56800. So $56800 plus that increase should put us close.

My concern is dealer markups. I would love for this car to be $60K but not if dealers add another $10-20K on top of that. That being said, it will depend on if Chevy says that the ZL1 will be built in limited numbers. If not, then we will probably be okay.

Allocation right now on the 50th editions has me worried. It's early still so I hope that changes over time. Hate to think the ZL1 will be impossible to get. I've waited too long to start a new hunt.

Add the fact that we are enthusiasts and have lined up... Imaging interest on this car once numbers get released 0-60, 1/4 mile, Nurburgring times etc ... Then the masses are going to march to their Chevy dealers like teenage girls to a Bieber concert ... Allocation will be an issue , compounded by the fact it's a "FIFTY" car... I'm glad I'm dealing with an honest dealership and they will not be charging me a cent more than MSRP....
