Not sure about stock GT running 12.4 unless you're on some miracle altitude with DR.

Difference between a stock GT and a stock SS is about 3-5 car lengths.. But if people are modding (Which most do anyways) then it won't really matter.
Again there's a lot more to drag racing that just a time on a piece of paper. DA plays into what a car will run. We have very favorable DA in the North/east in the Spring and Fall. Sometimes up to -1200. So you'll see 12.4 stock GTs runs at Atco, Englishtown, Cecil County. It'll take the same insanely negative DA for the 11.9 SS glory pass! Without Great weather and a Very good driver. You'll never see either car run those times. The fsstest time I've personally witnessed out of a 16A8SS was 12.0@116. The trap speed was there for 11s. Three or four car lengths stock sounds about right. Taking into account the wide range of driver skill you'll see in Friday night grudge racing.

Cant do anything about typo's. But the GT will run 12.4s stock and 12.1s tune and tires where we race in the spring and fall. Why would Mark (Fraxum, a long time Camaro owner) lie about any of this? We are at Atco 4 to 5 times a month. Do you think he's making it up? Or just delusional? I know it doesn't fit this forums narrative. But there is life outside what you read on the forums.

Okay that's a fair assessment, I respect that and I agree.

I am going to steer clear of the Springer drama, did anyone else notice that the #1 qualifier in the Street Wars series ran a 10.1 and a trap of 119 ??? Epic sandbag or typo ?

This is the only thread I post on because I know mark. I'm not going to waste my time trolling this forum.

No matter how you twist it, I still find it odd that not one of these stock 12.40's Mustangs are on the fast lists...

I have nothing against them, just came from two in a row before I get into my '17 SS, and while I don't get negative DA, down here, I have been drag racing 20 years and neither of my stock S197's (one auto, one manual) could get anywhere near a 12.40. Neither could any of the other 20 plus in my car club at the time. Best I could muster was high 12.70's in 250 DA. I consider myself a far above average driver too. I've hopped in friends cars and gone faster then them as well.

Well it just seams like everyone over here wants to believe that "Their" car runs 11s even though they've never done it personally. But it's impossible for a Mustang to run half a second slower??? How is it. This Mustang guy can concede 11s to the Camaro even theough I've never seen one personally?

Mine runs 12.3 in 1100 DA with me holding a cheeseburger in my rights hand. I'm a crappy driver.

Might want to put the cheeseburger down. Remember every 100 pounds is worth a 10th.

Seriously, it's possible a GT has run 12.4 but no Mustang owner has documented it on your forum and the holder of the fastest position (12.5) took more than a year after the GT was release. You now claim to have run 12.4 stock but it contradicts an earlier post where you specifically said 12.4 with "tune only". Hard to see that as a typo for "stock" ....and you never submitted it!

The SS broke 11s within weeks of them hitting the street and an average driver like myself can run good times in not so good air or track prep. (Mine was the morning after a street outlaw, zero prep day).

Bottom line is that someone in a stock GT needs to document it. The owner of the fastest all stock gen5 ZL1 (11.5) made that his mission and he's still stock. More challenging to do that then mod.

I don't think anyone in the Camaro community has an opinion about a 12.4 stock Mustang. 12.5 is quoted because that's the record and if there were to be a 12.4 it would still be an outlier, like the 11.5 ZL1.

And yes, if a poor SS driver sleeps at the light and you have a 0 reaction time you'll get the win but his ET will be better. I've done it myself against a modded, C6 auto.
