What an idiot. His WRX puts up nearly identical #'s to a V6.

I bought my car in December and when I first got it, people asked if it was a Mustang. I would often see Mustangs in my rear view mirror weaving traffic to try and catch up. Now that the word is out, I don't get either anymore. The car is a Beast, and now everyone (who is not a complete idiot) knows it.

If a 2017 WRX and a 2017 six gen 4cyl turbo meet up on the highway the WRX owner will get taken, from a dig the WRX might have a chance to break even?

Even after explaining I've gotten a 3.9 0-60 recorded and the auto is generally quicker than the manual, he still insists I'm crazy if I believe my camaro SS is quicker than his bmw 2 series (rated at a 0-60 of 5.8 seconds).

Has anyone else had ridiculous claims by people about your camaro or its performance capability?
As a BMW owner of a 228i, I know the SS would kill it. Even the M235, which is a much closer bet would still get wiped by the SS. As you plainly put it: ridiculous.

Side note, a guy in 2010 or 2011 SS wanted to compete with me. Wife in the car, but went ahead with it anyway. Good try (by him) but I just kept pulling away. It was a great rush for this middle aged guy trying to relive his youth (and even the wife was a little turned on).

Fun story... but my old CTS-V1 (400hp LS6) took all of a couple of seconds to catch up to and pass a 328i (the new turbo). No way the gen 5 SS is slower than a 228i. The guy was weaving in and out of traffic trying to pass everyone and we ended up at a light together, I let him go at first but then decided to see if the new tubo 4s were as quick as some people claimed they were. They're not.

Its not a race, they just HAVE to pass you. To be in front.

This is where the fun begins. As soon as they are alongside nearly match their rate of acceleration and watch it slowly increase. At some point usually well beyond 20+ over they will realize what the game is, and that their childish impulse to get by the nasty Camaro while trying to disguise themselves as a driver in a simple hurry has been fully revealed, along with their inability to judge speed, pay any attention to their speedometer, take their eyes off their side view mirror, etc. Then tap the brakes and drop that 20mph in a fraction of a second.

Do your part to educate other drivers.
yep. its always the jealous husbands attempting to show off their minivans and prove to their wives that they can compete with the camaro. so result: tailgating, angry gestures, break checks, weaving in traffic, and cutting everyone off.

clearly the camaro is not worthy guys

I've gotten some weird claims, misinformation for the most part (not worth discussing) by people who don't know anything about my car or what they are talking about. Then there are insane comparisons, not even close to apples to apples. Most comments when I am out with my Mosaic Black 2SS are very positive. An annoying mustang guy at a local car event said, "It looks like the new Corolla." My favorite comment came from his buddy who walked by later and blurts, "Nice Slomaro. Still not fast."

Just look at the font end of their car and ask "how do you turn it?"

These kinds of comments make me laugh. In all same day tests, the new Camaro is half a second faster in the quarter mile while also being a better track car, but the "Slomaro" is "still not fast" lol.

The two cars are hardly even in the same class anymore when it comes to performance.

At my first car show, a Mustang owner came over and said he was sure the 2016 Stangs would cream my Camaro. I told him I had already beaten several, even some with high performance mods. I had my window sticker posted for kicks and he told me, "As much as this thing costs it should be fast!". I told him the 1SS was $7,000 less and it would beat the Mustang even worse than mine. I truly love those debates. He called BS on my 1/4 mile ET (12.08@115), but I happened to have the timing sheet in the glove box. He swore at me and went back to his 2012 Mustang GT. Love it!

I have had nothing but good comments. Mostly about the color. Just today at a light a guy motioned to get my attention and asked me "what color is that, its beautiful". I have had some people try to race me at lights and they aren't happy when I wont. I could careless about racing. I have nothing to prove to anyone. Don't like the car then don't buy one.

I know this isn't 6G but a guy once told me his 1LE had a carbon fiber hood from the factory and weighted 1400 pounds lighter than my ZL1. My buddy and I just laughed and walked off.

A lot of reviews, professional and owner state the Mustang is a bouncy mess when trying to drive aggressively. Even the PP firms it up but doesn't fix the inherent issues.

Sure a set of LT headers, intake and tune and they match the straight line performance ( and void their warranty). But there is a lot more to performance than straight line.

I presume big changes will come for the Mustang in 2018.
