Converter?
Anyone thought about or already changed the stock converter out on the A8?

Yea it was mostly a curiosity thing. So far I'm happy with what I currently have but if there is more to be had there then I'd be very interested.

I've seen a 2800-3000 and a 3200-3400 for sales already for the A8 gen 6. I'm sure you can go higher. I replaced the stock 2300 and 3.23 gears in my '98 gen 4 LS1 with a 3000 and 3.73's and it woke that car up big time. IMO, for street use, I wouldn't go higher than the 2800-3000. Doing that combined with a throttle controller and the way the car adjusts everything in Sport ands track modes, you will be almost launching the car out from under yourself if you're not careful or are heavy footed. I'm looking hard at a '17 50th Ann Ed 2SS. I am looking hard at a few upgrades already. The throttle controller is one of them. I know someone with a '16 2SS and he has one on it. That alone helped him out a lot on launches. I'd be curious to see what changing out the 2.77's in the A8 for something like a 3.08 would do for the car. Not a big change on the gearing so you wouldn't lose much top end, but I'm wondering how much it would wake up the lower end band? Combine that with a 1400-6200 cam i found, and it probably would wake up the lower power band.

The stock converter on these A8's are sooooooo tight. Takes a lot of brakes to stop the car at super low rpms and to hold the car at lights. Stall is going to be so nice on these cars. Circle-D has them out

I can when I get a chance. It drives great honestly. Has some flash to around 2-2500. I'd say drives the same as my 5th gen did with a 4000
