Exclamation 50% oil life and ran only 212km. Is there a problem?

Just got my car weeks ago with 75% oil life and now it has about 55%.

I checked the dipstick and the oil level seems to be fine. Oil pressure is about 250kPA when idling.

I noticed that my oil life was way shorter with the oil from the factory. I got a change and it has lasted way longer it could be something that is set from factory that the oil needed to be changed sooner. I know that my cruze had a viscosity sensor in the oil to let you know how thick and much stuff was in the oil so it don't think its far fetched that this car has one as well. due to break in. there could be a lot more stuff in the oil. just a thought. I could be wrong though.

Are you sure it's a sensor that tests the viscosity? I always thought the Gm OLM oil life monitor was only a computer algorithm that uses an equation of different variables to guess % left.

Op has your. At been idling a lot? Idling will kill your OLM%. As well as how many start ups you put it through, especially fresh startups. Not sure on what every variable is but if your car was driven hard/idle long periods I could see 55%. But I feel bad for the car being treated so rough during break in period.

Change the oil and reset it, have it only driven by you and see if it happens again.

Stop and go driving will kill your %......The OLM sensor doesn't do anything with the oil, including viscosity or level, it calculates the percentage based upon the way you drive, and the time the oil has been in there From the last reset.

My car is still at the dealer, but it was driven from a different location.

Onstar says it has 207 miles on it and Oil life is at 85%.

I figured the 1st oil change is configured at 1200 miles.
