I've had A LOT of cars in the past, but the Camaro was going to be only my second new car. For me, I love red interiors, and I always skimped out on a car with red interior and just got one that was the better deal instead. So this time, buying new and having my choice of whatever I wanted, Adrenaline Red interior was a must...everything else with the 2SS was a bonus.

It was an easy decision for me. I figured if we were going to be spending that much on a brand new Camaro, might as well go all the way and get everything I thought I might want. Didn't want to have any regrets, and I don't. I love my 2SS, just thinking about it puts a huge smile on my face.

My main reason was that I prefer leather interior. The addition of heated/vented seats was a plus as well. (Last car was a 2011 2SS)

Like everyone else said OP, it all comes down to personal preference. I picked the 1SS in the end because I realized I didn't need all the extra things the 2SS came with and decided to just save my cash. The 1SS was also a nice place to be in for a lower trim as well and comes standard with some nice options.
I suggest sitting in and test driving both for a bit and make your final decision then. If think you're gonna have regrets and have the extra cash, just go all out and get the 2SS. They're both nice trims either way and both come standard with that lovely LT1

Went from a 2010 2SS/RS IOM M6 and couldn't see stepping down a level even though the 1SS is better than what I had. What a car this 6th Gen is.
I agree with everyone else....get what's right for YOU. You're the one making the payments and driving it. Not them. Good luck!

It comes down to:
Do you WANT or NEED all the bells and whistles you could possibly have? The extra cost is a good value. I wanted and needed all the bells and whistles. Blind spot monitor, wireless charger, full leather with heated and vented seats, dual zone climate etc. If you can live and not want the 2SS goodies, get the 1SS. |

A. 40k- 1SS with MRC and NPP
B. 45k- 2SS fully loaded C. 55k- baseline corvette I chose A it was plenty for me especially seeing my last camaro was a 4th gen LS1. It felt totally different and was a huge upgrade itself!!

If the 2SS came with actual cooled seats I'd be buying one when the V6 lease is up. Yet, it doesn't and I HATE leather so it's 1LE for me because it comes with some of the 2SS goodies.

I purchased a 1SS with wheel package and NPP.
The only extra I wish I had was the leather. The cloth seats seem to hold in the heat for some reason. I don't see the need for heads up display when you have a digital display right in front of you. Speaker package is still Bose and sounds decent, but missing rear decks. You can do more interior mods since your not paying for the upgrades, I added suede to the knee pads and center console. I'm happy with my 1SS! |

Maybe it's just black leather that gets really hot, but my red leather are the coolest seats I've ever felt in a car. I leave my car out in the sun all day and the seats don't even get hot at all. My old grey cloth seats got WAY hotter. And the cooled seats are amazing

I intend on buying a 1SS as I don't really feel the upgrades are worth $5K, plus call me odd but I prefer cloth seats. My main attraction to the car is the style and LT1 V8 w/6spd anyway, that's all I really care about.
Besides, I drive a truck that has nothing cool technology wise, is slow and it's got roll up windows so the 1SS will seem like a HUGE step up for me. |
