Couple ways to look at what the ZL1 will probably weigh.
Take a basic C7 Stingray, and compare the difference against a Z06 Or, take a CTS-V & CTS Vsport and do the same. In either case, replace the base car with the Camaro SS and add the difference between 'base' and 'extreme'. If you really want to be accurate, do both and take the average of the two. Should be very close.

In recent memory GM has not seen fit to offer "optional" HD equipment...my guess is that will not change....I am a long time watcher of GM offered additional options...FWIW...

So what I'm trying to figure out is how anyone has read that article from Goodwood and not started a mad hunt for more information confirming the 650hp rating. As it stands I cannot find any official source to validate GM releasing official ZL1 specs, yet Al stated in that article that the numbers had been released. That being said, are we happy with 650hp/3900 lbs? If we have this info lets starting making some ridiculous speculations! I just can't wait anymore!!!!!!😭😭😭😭

650 hp at 3900 lbs will not make it a hellcat killer in a straight line, but it should be a pretty close race. It will undoubtedly do everything else better, but not the one thing that matters most to alot of us. Hopefully we'll find out sooner than later.

The ZL1 may be down 57 hp, but it's also 500 lbs lighter. So it'll be able to at minimum match the Hellcat in straight line. But I think I'll be able to beat it due to the 10 speed and better stability. Repeated launch and durability is a different issue because the Hellcat is an overbuilt beast.

Anything in the 3.3-3.5 range will be expected. My mind may explode if it comes in below 3.2. That's some serious acceleration for a heavy rwd car. |
