I took off those Lower flex dams on this car and my previous car ,the C7 Corvette almost immediately. I don't need them to tell me when I'm going to scrape, I'm got a Curb alert for that and I just watch what I'm doing. I think they look like crap. Ever since the Corvette engineer told us at one of the meetings, that the flex dams help with cooling and mpg ABOVE 150 MPH… They came off. I'll put them back on when I'm going to Race Daytona

A friend of mine took his off his 5G and the air went behind the inner fender liner and made it rub the front tires. So just be careful and keep an eye on them if you do remove.

Put new wheels on yesterday, so was able to inspect all the wells at length, no problems whatsoever in 6g after 3k miles.

Its a matter of looks to me. I'll buying a V8 so there is no point in worrying about gas mileage when I will probably average <18mpg. They stick out like a sore thumb on the hyper blue model, which is the colour I will be going with down the line. Once I saw them I couldn't un-see them. Glad they are not important

Don't take them off its for aerodynamics at higher speeds...and anyone who doesn't ever hit higher speeds every now and then well why did u buy a car with 455 hp?!!!

As others have stated it does help aerodynamically however if I'm not tracking the car, I will be using it as a DD I don't see the need.

PS. Having a V8 is nice to leave every mustang I see in my rear view

Quote Chevy : "And rather than a traditional front air dam to reduce aerodynamic lift, the team developed a flush belly pan that stretches from the front grille to the center of the vehicle. Paired with small “spats” forward of the front tires, the smooth underbody helps reduce total lift by 30 percent – while also reducing aerodynamic drag."
